For this update, while we added some features, our focus was primarily on fundamentals such as stability, reliability, and performance.<\/p>\n<p>You can <a href=\"https:\/\/go.microsoft.com\/fwlink\/?linkid=2105412\">download SQL Server Management Studio 18.3<\/a> today and review the <a href=\"https:\/\/docs.microsoft.com\/sql\/ssms\/sql-server-management-studio-changelog-ssms?view=sqlallproducts-allversions\">SQL Server Management Studio release notes<\/a> for details.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Some of the new features in SQL Server Management Studio include:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Intellisense\/Editor: Updated support for features recently added to SQL Server 2019 such as ALTER SERVER CONFIGURATION.<\/p>\n<p><strong>SQL Server Management Objects \u00a0and scripting<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Added support for support scripting of Azure SQL Data Warehouse unique constraint<\/li>\n<li>Added support for ordered clustered columnstore index in Azure SQL Data Warehouse<\/li>\n<li>Data classification:\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none\">\n<ul>\n<li>Added support for SQL Server version 10 (SQL Server 2008) and higher<\/li>\n<li>Added new sensitivity attribute &#8216;rank&#8217; for SQL Server version 15 (SQL Server 2019) and higher and Azure SQL Database<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong style=\"font-size: 1.4rem\">Key bug fixes include:<\/strong><\/p>\n<table width=\"100%\">\n<tbody>\n<tr>\n<td style=\"width: 19%;text-align: left\" width=\"19%\">Database Deployment to Azure SQL<\/td>\n<td style=\"width: 80%;text-align: left\" width=\"80%\">Fixed an issue in DacFx that was causing this feature not to work.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td style=\"width: 19%;text-align: left;vertical-align: text-top\">General SQL Server Management Studio<\/td>\n<td style=\"width: 80%\" width=\"80%\">\n<p>Fixed an issue, that was causing SQL Server Management Studio to crash when using the sorting feature in the XEvent viewer.<\/p>\n<p>Fixed long outstanding issues where SQL Server Management Studio restore database may hang indefinitely.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: inherit;font-size: inherit;background-color: transparent\">See UserVoice items for more details:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/feedback.azure.com\/forums\/908035\/suggestions\/32899099\/\">Restore Database &#8211; Select Backup Devices Slow to Load<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/feedback.azure.com\/forums\/908035\/suggestions\/32900767\/\">SSMS 2016 very slow in the database restore dialogs<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/feedback.azure.com\/forums\/908035\/suggestions\/32900224\/\">Restoring database is slow<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/feedback.azure.com\/forums\/908035\/suggestions\/34281658\/\">Restore Database from Device HANGS on clicking &#8220;&#8230;&#8221;<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Fixed an issue where the default language for all logins was shown as Arabic. See UserVoice item for more details:\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/feedback.azure.com\/forums\/908035\/suggestions\/38236363\">SQL Server Management Studio 18.2 default language display bug<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Fixed the hard to see dialog for\u00a0<em>Query Options<\/em>\u00a0when the user right-clicks on the T-SQL editor window by making it resizable.<\/p>\n<p>The\u00a0<em>Completion time<\/em>\u00a0message that\u2019s visible in the result grid\/file \u00a0that was introduced in SQL Server Management Studio 18.2 is now configurable under Tools &gt; Options &gt; Query Execution &gt; SQL Server &gt; Advanced &gt; Show completion time.<\/p>\n<p>In the connection dialog, we replaced\u00a0<em>Active Directory &#8211; Password<\/em>\u00a0and\u00a0<em>Active Directory &#8211; Integrated<\/em>\u00a0with\u00a0<em>Azure Active Directory &#8211; Password<\/em>\u00a0and\u00a0<em>Azure Active Directory &#8211; Integrated<\/em>, respectively.<\/p>\n<p>Fixed an issue that prevents users from being able to use SQL Server Management Studio to configure auditing on SQL Azure-Managed Instances when located in a time zone with negative coordinated universal time (UTC) offset.<\/p>\n<p>Fixed an issue in the XEvent UI where hovering over the grid was causing rows to be selected.
