The problem: A fragmented job market\u00a0<\/strong>\u00a0<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

For hourly workers, the job search process is riddled with inefficiencies. Traditional job boards require applicants to repeatedly fill out the same information across different postings, and many never hear back after submitting applications.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Allen explains, \u201cThe average job seeker spends 25 hours completing applications. To get an hourly job, you have to complete 200 applications, and typically, you only hear back from only 10% of companies. That redundancy and frustration is what we\u2019re solving.\u201d<\/em>\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This insight led Allen to create Gigs, a platform designed to empower job seekers by reducing redundancy and improving application outcomes.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Beyond simplifying applications, AI also plays a crucial role in addressing a long-standing data problem in job listings. Many job postings lack essential details, such as pay ranges or location information, making it harder for applicants to make informed decisions.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThere\u2019s a really strong \u2018why now\u2019 in the job space for AI,\u201d <\/em>Allen explains. \u201cA lot of jobs don\u2019t even have a pay range attached. Some states require salary transparency, while others don\u2019t. That inconsistency makes it difficult for job seekers, especially hourly workers who care deeply about pay and location.\u201d <\/em> <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Gigs also bridges the gap between disparate job boards and applicant tracking systems, allowing job seekers to apply across multiple platforms without creating numerous accounts.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWhat AI allows you to do is just talk to all the systems without actually having to log in,\u201d <\/em>Allen says. \u201cThat\u2019s the real big difference\u2014it\u2019s fast, cheap, and consistent.\u201d <\/em> <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWhen one of my investors advised using Azure because of the speed of processing as a key strength, that sort of sparked going down this road of thinking about how we can build this application technology in a way that processes as quickly as we possibly could,\u201d <\/em>Allen shares.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n
