This app needs to have a way to type in mathematical equations. For Example x^2+y^2+z^2+r^2 (A Sphere) or (theta)=sin(x) a basic sin equation. It would be very helpful and would speed up the process a whole lot.

easy to learn BUT it needs a workshop like the Gmod workshop where you can share your work and use their models and what not. PS how do I prevent an object from nocliping?

Incredible app!

This app is essential for 3D printing. I've been trying to use Inventor to work with 3D stl files. The import process is nearly impossible considering all I want to do is cut the part into smaller pieces. This app immediately imports stl, allows me to cut parts apart and then resave the files effortlessly! Its got a really nice UI as well! Excellent jobs guys, you saved me a LOT of time and effort!

Intel RealSense 3D camera support?

It would be great if this program knew how to utilize on-board 3D cameras like the Intel RealSense ones that come standard on many Windows 10 machines. Would be much more natural to use and also justify the purchase of the camera

Where's the Scan button?

On the plus side, I find this program indispensable for manipulating my objects and then exporting them to the application that does the actual 3D print job. So why use a separate application if there's a Print button here? Because it doesn't work, that's why. And unlike in the video tutorial, there's no Scan button. Apparently that was taken out in the Windows 10 version. Why?

Free and easy to use 3d tool

It is awesome that Microsoft includes this app for free - I used to pay for file conversion and mesh repair but now it is included in Win 10 and it works great!

Best looking 3D design software but...

This program is really nice. The UI is well designed and it is pretty easy to learn just by experimenting on your own. There are basic tools missing that would definitely make it so much better. One you can copy but there is no option to mirror an object and two it would be nice to have the ability to draw on a 2D plane and extrude it. These are basis functions that should be available. Hopefully Microsoft will address some of the short comings because this program has a lot of potential.

great angles for millions of uses.

Just use your imagination great for anything. Think of the Statue of Liberty in 3D. Plus 1"

Love this app!

I love the simplicity, but I wish I could make new models... Is there a way to make new models? And if there was add-ons with more models in the windows store that ould be AWESOME, along with being able to save it as an image for those of us scene builders ;)

  • 3D Builder provides everything you need to make any 3D content printable.
  • Open 3MF, STL, OBJ, PLY, and VRML and save as 3MF, PLY, or STL.
  • Clean up models by smoothing and simplifying.
  • Automatically repair models so you can print them.
  • Print directly to supported 3D printers using multiple materials or order your model through the 3D Systems Cubify service.
  • Emboss any model with text or images.
  • Merge, intersect, or subtract objects from each other, or slice them into pieces.
