Goldfish Day Planner
Do you have the attention span of a Goldfish? Perhaps you need this app to help you manage your day. But first, a little history. Rumor has it that many years ago, I wrote a little utility for the Pocket PC for launching apps. This app was called “Fish Based Interface” (or “FBI”) as the icons were all in the shape of fish. I’m not entirely sure why I did it, but I was young and naive and probably thought it was funny. Rumor further has it, that this app was shown to Bill Gates at a trade show, who looked at it, and said “Huh”. In order to celebrate these extraordinary events, I have resurrected the Fish Based Interface, albeit in a slightly more mature and subtle way, as I’m now in my 40s and try to act like a sensible member of society. I like writing task management apps, as it’s easier than doing actual tasks. So I’ve combined my love of piscine user interfaces and tasks to create this: the Goldfish Day Planner. It’s simple, and it’s designed to load up on your Windows 8 tablet and quickly remind you of what you need to do today. Add tasks, and move them around to assign priority. Move tasks to Tomorrow if you aren’t going to get them done Today. See at a glance what still needs doing today (I bet one of things you need to do is write a new task management app, although might be just me). The interface is designed primarily for touch: touch the tasks to drag them around, double-tap them to edit them. Drag-and-drop them to move or mark them as completed. I like my Windows tablets, you see, and stabbing the screen with my stubby fingers makes me happy.More
- Daily task management
- Optimized for Windows tablets in portrait and landscape modes
All the cool kids are doing it. Doing what? Adding more support for keyboard and mouse users to existing apps, that's what. This fourth update (my word, has it been four versions already?!) update adds the ability to tap and select a task (or group of tasks - oh yes, I read up on selecting more than one at a time) and moving or marking them closed. This makes it a lot more convenient to use the app if you are using a mouse. It still works perfectly with your fingers on a touch screen too. I also fixed a few minor issues.
