Gravilux is an interactive musical starfield visualizer: it’s a combination of music, animation, art, and science. As you touch the screen, gravity draws simulated stars to your fingertips. You can tease and twist the particles into galaxies, or explode them like a supernova. You can color the stars by their speed, and make them dance to the music from your play list. You can change parameters including gravity and number of stars, and enable antigravity and color. Multiple fingers and multiple people can touch the screen at once, collaborating or competing. Gravilux was first released as a work of interactive art by Scott Snibbe that was only available in galleries and museums that became a best-selling hit on other mobile platforms and inspired Björk to work with him and his studio on the first App Album: Biophilia. "Apps like Gravilux awaken an 'Avatar'-like sensitivity to electricity in the body, power in the palms and general connectedness." —NY Times "Of the millions of apps out there, none quite capitalize on the sheer fun and beauty of interactivity the way that Scott Snibbe’s do.” —CoolHuntingMore

Helps pass the timeMore
I was looking for a good music visualizer and had a hard time finding one. But this one is perfect, exactly what I needed and really cheap. Great.More
Music player a little buggy and laggy. Effects get a little dull. Not the visualization player I was looking for.More
you should add wrapping and support for the windows music app to stream music and you should add randomized colors and you need to fix the bottom menu when it says attract it will attract the stars which means the button is a toggle button and its not clear that that is what is being used or if that is what you want to choose.More
Really fun to waste a few minutes with!
It's truly a joy to open this app up, and do something that is cool simply for the sake of doing it. Adults don't spend enough time playing.More
Simple but beautiful and engaging
Simple, fun to play. Relaxing. Engaging. One of the best Win8 games I've played. I keep coming back to this. Would really love to see video recording and a Share option from the Charms menu.More
Fun but needs more options (colors, spectral, etc.)More
This seems awesome, But...
I'm sure this is still in development but this would be killer if I could simply play music in Xbox Music or Podcasts and use this to visualize and interact with what's playing. Unfortunately I couldn't get any of the music I purchased through iTunes to play in the app at the moment, Great idea though!More
Fun, but could use some improvements
I find this to be a really mesmerizing way to waste free time, but a couple of things keep me from giving this a full 5 stars. A recent update sort of fixed the 1080p issue. It now displays in 1080 but the touch is still scaled in such a way that you can't interact with the lower right corner. However sometimes its nice that the input is off because I get to see the influence I'm having on the stars. Also it doesn't remember settings from one session to the next. Getting better, though! Love it!More
Limited to a portion of the screen of my Surface, but still uses the whole touch screen so the experience is lost. Music sometimes doesn't play. If you change screen orientation it stretches off screen and stays that way. Freezes when you change color settings. Overall a waste of money. It appears that with the new update they switched out the screen resolution issue. Now it fills the screen but the touchscreen only works on a portion of it. No issues with the music with the newest update.More

This update fixes bugs with touch and resizing on Surface Pro. Gravilux is also now locked to landscape mode.
