Musical Instruments Tuner
The Musical Instruments Tuner helps your tune your instruments by analyzing their sounds. Usually, in order to fine tune your instruments to make the pitch of each music note precise, you adopt a timpani, and compare the tone of your instrument with the tone of the timpani. However, because of the inaccuracy of human acoustic perception or the lack of experience, it is hard to make each music note precise. Given the fact that the pitch of a music note is defined by its frequency, the Musical Instruments Tuner records the sound of the instrument, analyzes the waveform of the sound to detect its frequency, and then compares the frequency with the standard frequency definition for each music note, so that it can detect the music note and the deviation. The Musical Instruments Tuner has 3 main features: Display the recorded sound’s waveform, display the analyzed frequency spectrum and detect the music note and the deviation. Each feature can be turned on or off independently.More

This works just fine for tuning. I won't dock it any stars for not having a sleek icon. For some reason, modTuner isn't working with Surface 2. This app is. I tested the pitch between a bunch of tuning devices. Again this is fine, and the interface of the program itself is much more appealing than the tile would lead you to believe.More
Wants to tune sharp
I like the UI and the graphs, but using the "musical note" section as described to tune to a note results (on my machine) in tuning the instrument quite sharp compared to other tuners and compared to what I am used to hearing. Maybe it is using an unusual reference pitch (A != 440) or something.More
Tuner gets me close enough for my purposes. Also, cool that it shows the frequency spectrum :)More
Tuned my guitar digitally. Perfect as I couldn't do it by ear.More
I tuned my guitar with another microphone style app that charges, (free trial) it seemed good. then, I realized something was wrong when I played certain songs. I installed and tried this app, and it said 4 of the 6 strings were slightly out of key. I adjusted them and now the guitar sounds perfect! The interface is good, and with the exception of a lack of instructions (like what is the difference between 'A' and 'a') I think it is awesome!!!! Wishlist - Incorporate a strum analyzer so a person can strum all six strings and it will tell if there is an issue or not. Thanks!!!!More
I like this app its for all instruments not just stringMore
It's not as good as a Korg, but seeing as how I lost that, this app is wonderful. Just a tip for anyone having difficulties, I had to put my surface directly in front of my amp to get a steady reading. You can't tune quietly either.More
It very helpfulMore
I tried this out for/as a guitar tuner. However, it would not stabilize enough to tell me what note is playing. I decided to use a different app, which also used the microphone, but worked much, much better.More
