Great Interface, but crashes and has other issues

Well, I really like the Modern interface, and there is a lot to like about this program, but it has serious issues. About half the time when I open a pictures folder it crashes and exits the program. And it is not consistant on which folders cause a crash. Sometimes the same folder causes a crash and sometimes not. Very dissapointing. Also, it won't open some file extensions (e.g. "PRG"). These are extensions registered with Windows which open fine from the stock File Explorer. I get the message, "Error: Open, File Launch Failed." This program has promise, but it is not ready for use yet. Since there is no record of the dates of the updates in the changelog of this program, I don't know how often it is updated, so I am hesitant to continue using it. Also, there seems to be no way to contact the author for support or to report issues. I am running Win 8.1, 64bit, on a fairly new HP touchscreen laptop.

Worst file explorer app

This app doesn't even open your documents and half of your folders. Avoid it!!! There are much better

Cannot show photo thumbnail!!

It cannot show my photo thumbnail nor playback the media contents (photo, video, music). Not as good as other file manager.

Limited

Nice, but limited. Doesn't connect with removable drive or Skydrive. Limited operations.

Virtually unusable

While it has a nice interface and looks like it has the potential to be a very good app, as it is it force closes way too often rendering it almost useless on the Surface RT. Hopefully the developer fixes it.

Great App!

Best metro file explorer, but if there is a way to access network shares I can't find it. Add better network support and it will be perfect.

Good app

Nice app. Simple and easy to use. One improvement could be when a file is selected, like a video or picture, I would prefer to see it open in full screen and not see "My Explorer" still taking up part of the screen space. Continually having to swipe it out of the way is a nuisance.

cool app... but

it's really a cool app ..I love it.. but it needs an option to set the background as my wish....... and if it's possible to put any pic as the background .. that's awesome

Good for Organizing Files For Quick Presentation

One thing that makes Windows 8 "not as good" as the ipad as an instant-access tool for business users is the fact Windows 8 is constantly trying to satisfy dual roles - the role of a desktop OS (input via mouse & keyboard) and the role of a touch device (input via finger). Windows desperately needed something like My Explorer for people who use 2-in-1 laptops or Windows tablets needing instant access to folders and files while in touch mode. I am an outside sales person. Most of the time I sit at my desk using my Lenovo Yoga as a "normal" computer. But when thrust in front of a customer, or similar impromptu situation demanding instant access to sales brochures and similar documents, I always struggled changing to tablet-mode quickly and not reliant on the mouse. This is where the ipad shines, and a big reason it has taken off in the business world. This app - My Explorer - bridges that gap. I am now every bit as fast as on the ipad, with all the power of a real computer. Thanks!
