AWESOME Except one aggravating bug

This would be 5 stars except for a really annoying bug. If you launch a show from the app using recorded shows, you cannot then use the remote feature in the app to control that show. you fist have to close the app and reopen it. The list of upcoming premiers is an AWESOME feature though.

Useless in Windows 10

Dead product. With no WMC in Windows 10 Microsoft has made this orphaned for Win7 and Win8 users because this has to have WMC to run; in which case, just use WMC since this app has limited extra functionality. Win7 and Win8 are limited support releases now with Microsoft stopping support for both in the next 3-5 years.

What is everybody so excited about?

I see all these 5-star reviews and I wonder what I'm missing. I can't watch TV with the app. I can't watch recordings. I can't even watch my own movies. All I can do is tell WMC what to do. That's fine. It's useful, I guess, but why is glorified $5 remote worth five stars?

Great example od a Windows 8 app

if you use Microsoft Media Center then this app is a must purchase. The design is fantastic and makes adding shows to my media center so easy. I have even purchased this app on my iPhone and iPad as well as my daughter's Windows phone. The only reason I don't give it 5 stars is that it doesn't do remote play of recorded shows. It doesn't make claims to do so but something that would make Media Center and this app even more fantastic.

My Media Center

This app was great. It had problems on windows 7 but it ran and while it was running it worked great. I have recently updated my MediaCenter machine to windows 8.1 and the app does not run. Im not the only one that is having the problem either. Im not talking about the phone/remote app I am referring to the server side but if that doesn't run the other half has no purpose. Ceton has such potential but just cant seem to deliver on some of their products.

Good app but support lacking this year

Support for the app is through thegreenbutton.tv site, but it does not appear that Ceton has had a presence there since last year. There are some lingering issues with remote playback and screen dimming on the Xbox when used for an extended period of time.

Good for what it is. Installed perfectly.

Really nice interface, but it does not stream video to your Windows 8 device. This is a very slick remote control application only. Don't throw Remote Potato away just yet. Update: When I installed an Xbox 360 as a media center extender and connected it to my living room television the true value of this software became evident. It detects both my media center on my main pc and the extender. I can select between the two to control with this app. It is very much easier to manage my media center saved programs and to save and delete programs. I use a tablet computer for all this goodness!

Needs streaming...recorded TV views need work.

The app looks FANTASTIC! It looks like the confusing views on recorded tv have been tweaked. Better, but you still cannot easily browse all of your content. I still contend that the proper approach is to replicate the views and pivots presented on the Media Center Recorded TV gallery. The server is a bit slow...

Problem with Movies Folder

I have a bunch of WTV recorded movies saved in a Movies folder on the same hard drive as my Recorded TV folder. The Ceton My Media Center configuration app crashes every time I try to set up that folder as my Movies storage area. I am not using the Libraries convention to specify the folder. I am using straight drive info (i.e., D:\Movies). Both Media Browser and Media Center are able to find my movies in this folder just fine. Other than that, I haven't had much time to explore MMC app.
