Ping is as simple it gets - it just takes a hostname and a port number and checks the connectivity. Tapping the ping button will use port 7 (ICMP) if no input is given. Any other port number will be checked as it is. If you don't have DNS in your network, try with IP addresses. A history is maintained of all checks done so far. You can recall any item from the history by tapping on it. Use the delete button to clear the history. I developed this application while working on Get Me Tones companion app for Windows Phone since there were some problems with my network and I wanted to check connectivity from the phone itself to be sure. Update in 1.1: - Fixed a bug where deleting history didn't destroy the item list in memory - Changed default ping port to 135 since port 7 isn't really ping - Ping button gets disabled until it gets a reply or times out Get in touch with the developer at ashish [at] wpfied.comMore

Seems to work with out any fuss. Simple interface. Gives me status at a glance.More
Ping Pings! Simple, no frills, out does what it says without invading your privacy. Suggestions for future development: Add the ability to have a list of favorites (commonly pinged devices) that are not cleared when you clear the history. Also scheduled background operation with notification of a ping fails could be a boon to IT pros.More
Handy app. Would give it 5 stars if you could add favorites.More
I suddenly realized I had no app for ping installed. So I searched and found this. Tiny download, perfectly efficient and the ability to specify a port is convenient. If anything I'd fill in a default port of 80 for novice users, but otherwise this app is perfect! Add ads so you can make a buck or two!!! You've earned it!More
Flakey, can only ping once per session. IE, must exit app and rin again to ping again. but not exactly what I was looking for. I was looking for a simple icmp ping.More
Could never ping anythingMore
Mislabeled - its a port query tool. Not in the sense the traditional ping I was expecting.More
