Unfortunately Microsoft decided to dump the POP mail account access. That said, a POP work-around like Skycap is needed fro all the old POP accounts. However, Skycap fails to deliver. Most of the time it will not receive emails at all, when it does it is complete surprise. If it can't do the basic object of the idea there is a problem...I'd look somewhere else for a POP work-around.

THIS THING IS awesome. for those of us who are new computer owner. New computer has Windows 8. Windows 8 won't relate to a pop3 account. Skycap solves all the problems at once. So easy to install. And bam; it was working. I was getting all my email!! So cool!!!

needs some updating

This is an app that is clearly needed as Win8 doesn't support all types of Email. It works well and doesn't crash and I haven't had trouble receiving Emails. However, there's no option to print from app so I need to copy text into a notepad file if I need it printed or open the mail on an actual web-server. Also, deleting files doesn't always work, they often come back days later. The sync with the actual Email server doesn't work very well. Updates to issues will get more stars.

Wow, I want this to work! But not so sure

This could be a huge winner but it's full of bugs. Great display, worked fine yesterday, but then it started missing new mail and marking new incoming mail as "yesterday" with some odd 24-hour clock (17:00 PM??). Now it's flashing new messages by while on other pages (good) but not showing anything at all in the "ALL". And there's no apparent help page or even good contact on the developer's website. But get the bugs out and this could be wonderful. I've paid in hopes you do! Updates??

Could never get it to access my pop3 email

Trial version for MS Surface RT 64 . Am still desperately searching for a clean, functional pop3 email program that will allow me to access multiple email accounts. Thought this one would be it, but could never get it to connect with my pop3 accounts (via Verizon). Have no problem with the other handful of apps available for pop3 email, but they fail me in other ways. Wish this one could have been the solution.

I don't get it

Just downloaded the app and added a Gmail Imap account. One hour later, no imap messages, nothing. The app is not functioning. I've looked everywhere for settings, even just to add another account, no options. It must not have installed correctly but can't reinstall because it's a trial. I don't know why this app isn't working but I have no interest in an email program that can't handle the simplest of tasks. I'm using Windows 8, Acer Aspire S7-392.

Just what I was looking for!

Finally, an email client that works on my pc and tablet. I can add both my Hotmail and Gmail accounts. Works great! Slick! Easy to use and does what it says it can do. Happy with my purchase! Well worth the price!

good email application

Just downloaded and set up the "trial" version of this application. Very easy to set up "pop" accounts. I am still looking for an email program that will allow me more customization options, such as setting up "junk" controls, etc. Good start....hope you continue to improve with additional options and I will be glad to pay for your product ;)

Version notes

In this release we made the following improvements: 1] Enhanced automatic email account discovery, for a higher success rate. Manual account configuration has also been enhanced. 2] Added preset mail account options for Outlook, Zoho, Gmx and Mail.com email service providers. We also fixed the following bugs: 1] Fixed the bug for IMAP accounts where only the Inbox folder was loaded. 2] Fixed the bug for IMAP/POP accounts where configured accounts would show a constant Busy ring, but nothing was happening. 3] Fixed the bug for POP accounts that had issues with manual configuration. 4] Fixed the bug where if a Dialog (Add/Remove/Delete Mailbox or Add Mail Account Dialog) is open and an email was selected in the background, it would cover part of the dialog. 5] Fixed a number of minor bugs on the Compose New Mail screen. 6] Fixed some general UI inconsistencies, colour, layout, etc.
