Mini is great but can't subscribe to larger puzzle

I LOVE the mini puzzle; it is engaging and a great little puzzle. BUT it is a major disappointment that I have been unable to subscribe to the weekly NYT puzzle through this ap. Believe me, I've tried. Bummer.

Great app but lacks features in its iOS counterparts

I think The NYT crosswords are the best in its genre and are worth every penny. The app mostly meets expectations but could be improved upon. Pros: The crosswords are easily accessible and are a fun to solve traditional-like with a pen/stylus. The layout and presentation of the puzzles are nice and work well in both landscape and portrait modes. Cons: Update: previously I said this app wouldn't sync with the iPhone version but it does, but not always. What doesn't sync is the solve time. The PC app lacks features in its iPhone/iPad counterpart such as statistics regarding puzzle completions (average times, consecutive puzzles solved w/o help, etc.). Also, if the app is closed it doesn't pick up where you left off when opened again. Also app doesn't say if puzzle is complete on home screen like it does on iPhone.

Pretty awesome, even with the smaller display

This version of the app is similar, if not better, than the iOS version on the iPhone. You can only see one row at a time; if there was a way to also show the intersecting row, that would make it perfect...

Buggy - Massive CPU usage with no internet connection

I've been enjoying this app a lot on my Surface Pro 4 with the stylus. It is a well designed Windows 10 app and was something I was looking forward to using on a long flight over the Christmas holidays. Instead, I was supremely disappointed to find that this App spikes up CPU usage to over 60% the moment it loses an internet connection (so Airplane mode will trigger this). Your machine will heat up, battery life will be destroyed and the app becomes extremely sluggish with stylus input being unusable due to the high latency from all the CPU churning the app causes. This is a reproducible issue. You can start the app with WiFi on and it will work as expected with ~ 1% CPU utilization. The moment you turn off/disable your WiFi, you will suddenly see CPU utilization spike up and remain sustained at high levels. This is a very disappointing bug and makes this app completely unusable on mobile Windows devices. I hope the developers address this soon.

never thought...

...I'd carry a mini with me wherever I go. Whenever there's a five minute standstill I can hit it. Relaxing and stimulating at the same time. Full size puzzle makes the best travel companion. Word check feature keeps me from giving up.

Can't play across devices

I like the puzzles very much, and the app works well on a particular device. However, it claims that you can start a puzzle on one device and finish it on another one, and that is simply not true. Therefore I am very disappointed. I would love to be able to finish puzzles on my phone that I have started on my computer and vice versa. It knows about puzzles I have finished but there is no sync function to update progress between devices.

Good. Could easily be 5 stars though

Much more functional than beautiful. I mean the app works well enough, but has nowhere close to the polish of the ios version which is a shame given that you pay the same subscription fee. I use this app daily and there are few MAJOR issues, it's just a bit plain, basic in comparison.

Very addictive

The mini puzzle is small enough to not steal away huge chunks of my day.

can't use pc keyboard

I can't type using my pc keyboard on the mini puzzles! You can click a button for an onscreen keyboard to click the letters with the mouse, but it blocks the puzzle. Also, the first time I tried a puzzle, it crashed on me. The main puzzle fortunately lets me use my keyboard.
