Hugh Williams



A product of the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts, Hugh Williams inaugurated his stage career in 1921. He made his first film appearance in 1930, playing Charley Wyckeham in Charley's Aunt. Among his subsequent Hollywood screen roles were Steerforth in David Copperfield (1935) and Lyndon in Wuthering Heights. A prolific playwright, Hugh Williams' stage works include The Grass Is Greener, co-written with his second wife, actress Margaret Vyner.
