Tamara Dobson

A tall, statuesque black actress with a satiny, alluring voice, Tamara Dobson began her career as a model. As a screen actress, she enjoyed a brief period of great popularity as the result of her portrayal of a tough, assertive narcotics agent in Cleopatra Jones (1973) and Cleopatra Jones and the Casino of Gold (1975); she had a large male following and got plenty of attention from the press. Her screen roles soon dried up, though, and she rarely acted in the '80s.
