Surface Laptop

I'd been looking for a replacement for my aging Mac Book Air. I saw the Surface Laptop at the MS Store and purchased it (i7/8GB/256GB). So far it's been excellent. I've watched movies, played games, and installed all the software I needed. I did need to upgrade to Win 10 Pro to install some of the apps I use, but the upgrade process took less than 5 minutes, was seamless, and free. The performance and battery life is the best I've ever had from a Windows OR Mac laptop. The tactile elements: keyboard, keyboard cover, touchpad/mouse, and screen touch, are fantastic and on par with Apple (Apple's touchpad/trackpad is larger, but doesn't have a touchscreen). Sound is incredible, go to the MS store and listen for yourself. MS knocked this one out of the park.

The Surface Pro 4 is superior in performance and it has so many features that enhance and makes operating the system a breeze! I love it

It's easy to look at the Surface family and think "whoa." At least for me, I did. The cobalt blue color made things a little easier and after spending the last week with this device, I know my heart made the right call. This laptop is one of the most beautiful pieces of technology I've ever touched (coming from a Mac) and it's been a flawless experience thus far. I can't say much more than that because this Surface Laptop has got me speechless.

By far the best laptop I've owned in a long time. It's a must buy, super portable, killer design, the fabric on the keyboard feels fantastic.

I've had the Surface 3 for several years, and the fabric still looks brand new, so I don't expect this laptop's keyboard to be any different. It's great to not have to rest your hands on freezing metal. It has amazing battery life, and a very high-quality keyboard material. What's even more surprising is how stunning it looks, and it certainly turns heads! I have the cobalt blue, and I can say that it is gorgeous and adds to the high quality experience. In low lit areas, it can seem like a dark grey or black which (personally) I love! It's great to have more unique colors offered for laptops. For those worried about Windows 10 S and the restrictions that come with it, a simple click of a button upgrades you to Windows Pro without any fee and allows you unrestricted access to the things you want to download. I can easily say that choosing this over an apple product was the right decision, especially if you like Windows, a touch screen, and want to be unique. Amazing work!

I unboxed my Surface Laptop yesterday. Cortana guided me through the setup quickly and then I let it charge to 100%. I watched a full-length movie on it with my family with the screen as bright as it would go. The sound quality is just incredible. I spent the rest of the evening just surfing on it. In total, I used it for at least 6 hours. I checked the remaining battery life this morning and it still was at 51%. It is comfortable, solid, stylish, screen quality is excellent. Love it!

Wow. I really thought that I wasn't going to like the laptop that was just... a laptop, but it is genuinely so much better made than it's competitors (Dell XPS line, the new Macbook line). With other laptops, I find myself cramping my hands and fingers because the keyboard is cramped, but this is the perfect solution. And the Alcantara fabric feels so nice as it is seamlessly integrated into the aluminum design of the laptop. Everywhere I go everyone compliments the laptop because it looks clean. And it does! However, I read that the keyboard is meant to look well worn, which helps the heathered look of the Alcantara fabric. Even my base model is very fast and satisfying, and the Windows hello feature works before I even realize it. The screen aspect ratio is very luxurious and filling without making the laptop too bulky. I could not be as satisfied with a different laptop. The design is familiar, yet refreshing and I can't wait for it to be my new go-to computer.

Setup was very easy and Windows 10 S is mostly the standard windows experience until I tried to install Chrome - Its not in the app store and the OS will not allow install of .exe programs so you sort of have to stay with Edge. I hope the selection improves, otherwise I will be using the free upgrade to Windows 10 Pro. On a positive side note, the year of office for free is nice to have.

I'm not quite sure how a keyboard and screen can be much thinner.
