Description

The Authenticator app generates security codes you can use to help keep your Microsoft account secure. You can add your Microsoft account to the app by scanning a barcode or by manually entering a secret key. The app implements industry-standard security code generation and may also work with other services and providers. You can learn more about keeping your Microsoft account secure at https://account.live.com/p. ** The Authenticator app is not supported for use with Windows Azure Multi-Factor Authentication. Use the Mutli Factor Authentication app for this.

Easy to use

I was able to use this with my MS and Amazon accounts. Press and hold to copy the code and paste it where needed. Uses a simple, metro design/UI.

Does what it needs to.

Put a lock on your phone and use this app to do 2FA on your Microsoft account, Gmail, Facebook and other compliant services

Works extremely well - but if you ever have to reset your phone, reinstall the app or get a new phone, you lose all of your multifactor keys. This is a *huge* limitation - microsoft really needs to include this in the built-in phone backup feature.

Use this app if you care about security!

Does what it's supposed to do, and makes your account more secure in the process -- good app. For now, the UI does look a bit bare, and it took me a minute or two to understand what was going on with the progress indicator, but I think as 2-factor authentication becomes more commonplace, this UI will become very obvious and very clean.
