Description

The Authenticator app generates security codes you can use to help keep your Microsoft account secure. You can add your Microsoft account to the app by scanning a barcode or by manually entering a secret key. The app implements industry-standard security code generation and may also work with other services and providers. You can learn more about keeping your Microsoft account secure at https://account.live.com/p. ** The Authenticator app is not supported for use with Windows Azure Multi-Factor Authentication. Use the Mutli Factor Authentication app for this.

works

Works OK. Sometimes even for places that don't offer windows mobile support (gmail) QR didn't work with GitHub. Inability to remove or replace individual entries is puzzling and a major drawback

Could be much better

How does Microsoft expect people to stay with Windows phone when Microsoft's own apps are superior on other platforms? The Microsoft account app on Android is much better and has more features than this app. Disappointing.

Minimal design but works

Works the way it should and does its job well. It is a very minimal design, but what else can you really ask for from an app that generates authentication codes? It does simply that and does it well.

Overall it's Great

I hope to make another version of this app for Windows 10 pc, sometimes when I'm using my computer really to need this app to sync my code, I don't need to using the phone.

A little more Security

Essential two step verification. It takes a few steps to get it set up and then you're all set for your account to be just a little more secure.

Authenticator, authenticates, simple.

Does what it should do. Keeps my accounts secured. Though, there must be some little improvements: 1) transparent tile 2) password or IRIS to open the app 3) if possible, backup those codes and accounts that were set up into the app using system backup Update: there is an another Microsoft Authenticator in the store that has a transparent tile. I'll go download it a give it a review.

Clean and simple

Clean and simple app, works for any website asking for 2 part authentication, even if program asks for a third party specific app authentication.

Does What it Should

Authenticator is a great two-step verification app. You really have to understand the reasoning and use of the app before enabling two-step verification. Codes last long enough to enter into another device, and even the same device, but it's not meant to be the same code every time (like a password keeper). The randomized combinations are for a reason and Authenticator does a great job providing random codes with practically no way to duplicate or guess the results. In regards to random number generators, Authenticator is doing a pretty good job. You cant beat the added security Authenticator adds to your Microsoft account. Though you may find that you entered the code a second too late into your other device, Authenticator is always handy with a new code to prove you are you.
