Awesome roguelike platformer.

Challenging, but fair. Game runs and controls smoothly, so the difficulty lies solely in honing your own skills. There are also plenty of Spelunky vibes here - so if you enjoyed that game, definitely give this a shot.

Cheap And Fun

It's great just sit and play with no task in mind. Its cheap and rather fun and can be quite the challenge.

Good platformer with a rogue-ish charm

If you're a fan of platformers with a bit of adventure gaming added in, then I definitely suggest this to you. Think along the lines of Ghouls N' Ghosts, but you get to use the loot you collect to upgrade your character. Some levels even have stores for you to buy upgrades during a play through. For the achievement hunters out there, the achievements come relatively quick after you understand the mechanics. Throw daggers, axes, or chakrams at enemies to collect loot and survive the levels. There are timers for each level, however, it doesn't mean instant death if you run out of time, so don't let that deter you. That being said, the game does bring death often at first, but each time should help you learn how to progress. All in all Bard's Gold should give some entertaining moments during the journey to beat it.

Great retro inspired platformer.

I rather enjoyed the game. It's not expensive and it has quite a lot to do, so you get your moneys worth. The platforming was as expected for platformers, overall enjoyable with a hint of challenge. Potentially more challenge to those rusty or not used to platforming. The rogue-lite aspects of the game make it fun and definitly expand on the amount of time you can spend on the game. The rogue-lite mode is perfect for keeping things fresh. The normal and retro modes are fun, but do have a more linear level setup. You can unlock skills to level up when you die, then come back stronger. As for dying, you will do a bit of that since it is one hit and your dead, but there are items in the game you can get to either prevent losing items or a one hit death. I liked the selection of items and the addition of hidden areas and platforms in the game. I have beaten the normal mode and there is still more to do. The only thing I'd like to see is more worlds added. Definitly worth a buy.

Challenging is an understatement.

A game for the price of your average starbucks latte you cant really complain even if flawed and terrible. Bard's Gold instead is unique and although it may be similar to other dungeon platform games it also adds a lot more challenging aspects and scenarios. Most companies try to make a game that would draw in the most customers for a profit but Pixel Lantern instead made a game that is unique that only a certain category of peeple will enjoy, and at a reasonable pirce! If a challenege and dauntingness are not aspects you like to see in a game this is not for you, but if like myself and enjoy a little bit of everything then the game is atleast worth a try. It's $5 what do you have to lose?

pretty fun! great price point.

This game is very fun. Lots of challenge. And I haven't run into any bugs. The price point is excellent For everything you get This game is great for old school gamers an achievement hunters as you gain them rapidly. Some of the more cryptic parts are hard to figure out but it's still pretty fun and I can't fault the game for that. There's going to be areas of mild frustration too intense frustration based on your Platforming experience As a gamer. I say this games a great purchase For the price.

pretty fun!

I enjoyed this game alot more than i thought i would. Its a nice platformer with the nice feature of not wasting your hard earned unspent money. When you die you have the option to bank your money into skills towards your next playthroughs. Like starting with more lifes, or starting with the magic glasses, this game gets better the more you play it.

Good game, needs safe zone adjustment options.

The game for the price is fair, but not being able to adjust to fit my screen is killing it for me. Missed keys and stationary enemies take more lives than the base mechanics.

Another great retro platformer

Controls great. Plays like a classic 90s platformer with some modern roguelite additions. Worth full price and a steal for half off.
