The official Cap Metro App offers customer quick trip planning tools, online ticketing, real-time arrival information and other great features to make riding easy. It is the first app of its kind to offer mobile ticketing in the Austin area and one of the only in the country. Whether you’re at home, on the go or on the bus, pull up the app to access the Trip Planner tool and easily buy tickets. Not sure how to get there? With schedules and route maps offered in the Cap Metro App, you’re only a click away from your next trip. App Features: - Buy tickets for Local, Premium or Commuter services. Eligible customers can also purchase MetroAccess and Reduced Fares. - Trip Planner feature plans a customized itinerary based on your starting and ending locations. Save favorite trips for easier planning. - Schedules available for all routes in the system. Real-time available for MetroRapid and MetroRail services. - Route Maps viewable by service and route number. - Next Bus features allows you to find the next bus near your location If you use a Reduced Fare ID Card, you must first visit the Capital Metro Transit Store (located in downtown Austin at 209 West Lavaca, open Monday – Friday 8:30am - 4:30pm) to have a Capital Metro representative activate the reduced fare purchasing option on the app. Students looking to purchase reduced fares on the app must first complete the Reduced Fare ID Card eligibility process and then have a Transit Store representative activate the reduced fare purchasing option. If you are a MetroAccess customer, you can register to purchase MetroAccess passes on the app by calling MetroAccess at 512-369-6067. Please have your client ID number available and email address used to register your account. Fantastic app, easy to use for visitors!

This is an awesome transit app. I was so glad to have it on my recent visit to Austin. Knowing nothing about the system already, it was easy to understand and got me where I needed to go!

I like being able to buy tickets from the phone with a credit card when HEB's service desk isn't open, but the phone "ticket" is slower than swiping a pass card, and the rest of the app doesn't do much that they website can't. The Trip Planner allows me to save a Favorite trip, but I can't see how to access it later. I'll probably keep the app, but I think I'll go back to buying monthly passes in January.

Unusable. The app takes forever and a day to load information, and when it loads the schedule, the times swipe back and forth, but the numbers on top don't, which makes it impossible to use. Clicking on the PDF to open the schedule does nothing. You can't purchase one way tickets, and are forced into day passes. Many screens keep showing an invasive popup and then exit since I have not allowed the app to know my current location, making those features unusable also. This app is awful. However, once when I had a need for an emergency ticket, I bought one via this app and it saved me in a time of need (out of cash, important meeting). This app is helpful as a last resort, but I still have no clue when my bus is scheduled to come, so I guess I'll have to call.

Was better before - now the schedule display is slow to load and the table doesn't always align to the station names... which makes that feature useless. Ticketing works well though.
