Version notes

Version number: Varies by device

We're back! Version 2.5 adds a number of user-requested features and will probably be the last Windows 8.1-compatible version. Our next goal will be to update the UI to be more Windows 10 friendly with a fresh new design. Here's what's new: ADDED: App bar button to access application Settings. ADDED: Browse picker's 'All Files' file type filter can open unregistered file types. ADDED: Browse picker's file type filter alphabetically sorts extensions. ADDED: Move selected lines up (Alt+Up) and down (Alt+Down) edit actions. ADDED: Numerous additional font options to better support Eastern character display. ADDED: codewriter://close-all URL closes all open documents, losing any unsaved changes. ADDED: Print settings for syntax highlighting, line number margin, and whitespace saved. ADDED: Doctype for default HTML, PHP, and ASP templates. CHANGED: HTML auto-completion for void elements no longer self-closes certain tags. CHANGED: Indentation guide contrast increased. FIXED: Save As dialog didn't select the document's current file type by default. FIXED: CSS file type wasn't syntax highlighting media queries correctly. No project edit option

I like this app. But, it would be great, if there is possibility to open a folder with code writer. So that, we can access files an edit them easily. Simply like, opening a project with code writer.

Like it but has issues with large files

I use this to help me write SQL queries. I really like how it helps me not miss opening and closing parenthesis in my code. It's language support is pretty good as well. Recently though I have been doing XML file editing (stupid IRS) and this app really chokes on large XML files. It can take a long time to open them or may never open them.

This app is awesome

This app is just awesome for quick viewing and editing of code. Especially when visual studio has so many compatibility errors in windows 10, just open a JS or CS file works like a charm in this app. fast, lightweight, and looks great. If it just had auto-complete and basic intellisense it would be perfect.

Simple yet powerful.

It's a great tool but opening the app can lag sometimes and I wish there was a way to have multiple separate editor windows open at the same time.

Love It!

What a wonderful UI! I like writing as well as programming and especially with this app, it's a pleasure doing both because it looks so appealing. As an app, its functionality is great and it contains no bugs for me.

Perfect for development

It has autocorrect, suggestions, and color coding. Great for the web or quick changes to code. A little clunky and limited, but otherwise great. The file format support is amazing.
