Welcome, Debian! I was shocked yesterday when Kali was available, and now Debian is next! Its a great day. :) Other than that, well, it is Debian 9.3 - pure and simple.

I added my favourite shell and packages and it's no different, really, than my debian machine - except it's running through WSL. I shall be spending the majority of my time in debian now that I can. Only will make use of Windows for games and such. The best of both worlds.

It starts. It works. It has all sorts of packages. You can upgade it to Sid ("unstable") and it still works just as fine, the closest thing to Arch that is officially available from the Windows store, likely even better for most people. I even find it funny that it keeps the GNU part of the name. Overall great, so far the only thing I can't get to work is GNOME (desktops which don't require GPU acceleration, like XFCE, seem to work). Makes for a great gateway drug.

Works great for console based work. Had to solve the "Unsupported console settings." error on initial launch via: Open cmd.exe; Right click title bar -> Properties; Uncheck Use legacy console; Click OK.

Absolutely lacking some basic packages installed, users need to run this: sudo apt update && sudo apt full-upgrade && sudo apt install aptitude sudo aptitude install ~pstandard ~prequired ~pimportant -F% Like... you can't even man apt because it doesn't have man installed. This is hilarious.

Finally, I can use Debian without Dual-Booting my OS. Oh, and one thing, can we get a decent ICON for this beautiful WSL distribution?

There's not much more you can ask for except maybe a better terminal.

man (manual) has been (at least IMHO) an integral part of UNIX/Linux since its earliest days. The developers who created the Microsoft Store app probably did not have a clue.

Make something that looks at least as good as the Windows tile.
