APP Immediately Closes

Windows Update today ... don't know if this is a result of that, but clicking the live tile does open the app, but it then quickly closes. Tried many times; same result. Useless on my machine at the present time.

No good for Dell Tablet Use

I have a subscription to Dictionary.com and cannot log into my account. The Dictionary.com start screen will is only viewed in one position on my Dell. When I change the position of my Dell from horizontal to parallel, the screen remains the same and the view will appear upside down.

A disrespectful afterthought

Whoever made this program barely put in basic thoughts to functionality and usage within and without its place in a persons work flow. First off, the search function is relegated to the built-in search in windows. As it is, the search does not automatically tell you its searching within the program itself. It seems to be a design issue within windows 8.1 itself, however it should have access to its own search bar. One that automatically searches when you type on the keyboard. Search is the number one priority when using a Dictionary. The application does not scale to half screen size. Even when its multitasking with any screen size one cannot scroll or access content to the right of the word so one could see links, synonyms, antonyms ect. The second consideration for this application is that it is used seamlessly with other activities. Multitasking is highly important.

Offline Dictionary?

All the other Dictionary.com platforms have offline option like iPhone and Android. Moreover, they have a nicer and sleek design. The Windows app is missing all of these. Please come with an update to resolve these issues!!!

Good app, but crashes

I use this as my main Dictionary/Thesaurus app. It's quick and easy to use and extremely helpful for doing search after search. There is room for improvement, however, in that many of the things that I try to click on (nearby words, back button) cause the app to crash. The app is free, though! Thanks very much to the developers.

Very stripped down if you are used to other verion

iOS and Android have the best versions. This one is not very useful. What makes it even more so is there is no easy search field to use. Even if you want to swipe the tap Search... you still have to everytime choose the dropdown and select to search in the Dictionary... EVERY SING TIME! Come on Dictionary.com. It would be nice, is if when the app is open just type a word... Just like when you are on the Windows 8.1 Start screen where you just type what you want.

Very disappointed

All I can get are articles about words. Where is the link to the dictionary? Where is the link to the thesaurus? That is what I need and I can't get to those functions. No menu when swiping up or down. Not at all what I expected from dictionary.com which is easy to use via a web browser.

Almost Perfect but Fatally Flawed

Searching for a word needs to be immediately available. Having to swipe the charms, click the search icon, set it to search the Dictionary.Com app, and then type in your word is WAY to many steps to simply search. Otherwise this app is near perfect, but what does it matter if everything is there but it's too cumbersome to do a basic word lookup. Easy UI fix here otherwise a great app is near worthless.

Horrible Customer Service

Dictionary.com was easy to use with Windows 8. They had plenty of time to fix their app during the 8.1 preview but kept it so that there wouldn't be a search bar within the app and users would see their files, settings, etc. whenever they typed in a word with the search feature while in the app. Also has suspicious description: "Fixed Bugs : - Word of the day displays as "NaN". - Clicking in the description of the Hot Word crashes the application."

Not as good as Windows 8 Phone version

To make this app better it needs: 1. Offline dictionary (like the phone version) 2. Type to search function or a dedicated search bar. 3. Thesaurus 4. Speak to search would be nice, like the phone version As of now, this app is of almost no use to me, especially without an offline dictionary. Might as well just type the word in Google or actual website.
