Good Start.

Microsoft seems to have done well on sticking to the main formula that made the GoW games great, but the campaign seems to have had it's difficulty toned down and overall feels short. The story was compelling in a good way, though it was unfortunate that it's been trimmed to two player co-op. The main issue is that these operation crates seem as a desperate cash grab, like don't charge people 100$ if there is a pay to win aspect that we expect from F2P games. Save the extra 40$ if you aren't huge into the GoW PvP because it doesn't appear to be any story based dlc coming out for this game. Also the ending was anti-climatic and just so different from the main game that you have to wonder if it was pulled straight from the movie pacific rim. Like that is not a good way to end a game.

Best Gears title I've played.

For gamers that have been around to play the other gears titles you'll be happy to know they didn't disappoint. The online social, core and competitive game types are good, horde mode still has the same feel, with the exception of the addition of character classes, which you can level up classes, to improve gun damage, fortification discounts. The difficulty levels on horde feel right, hardcore and insane forces you to play ALOT in order to have enough skills for the characters. Playing gets you in game currency to buy card packs to unlock characters, weapon skins, horde skills, bounties for horde or online matches against bots or players. I have playing time of 2 days and I'm yet to play the campaign. Overall so far I'm only annoyed with gamers having the "easy way out" option to buy card packs with real $. What is the point in releasing a game, having this system for unlocking items, and immediately giving an option to "Buy your skills" with micro transactions.

One of the best Co-Op games you can play.

Stays true to the original series. Beginning is a little slow but after the first two acts it picks up quick. Being able to play with your friends on Xbox is a great addition. Only problem is you can't do versus between both platforms. Even though most of the population seems to use a controller. Definitely looking forward to the sequel hopefully it comes to PC as well.

The Coalition Strikes Back

Campaign is a little shorter than what I expected but still fun (Played through on Hardcore). Though to experience the full story you'll need to read supplemental material (Not In Game). Multiplayer is awesome. Love the new modes they've added. Horde mode is also incredible and challenging. Though I do not enjoy the convoluted card system... You're not unlocking new skins at a satisfying rate, but this will probably change in a future update (When Active Players Starts To Decline). As always if you're looking for a graphical showcase Gears does not disappoint. 17 tomatoes out of 4 pineapples.

I've waited for this since Gears 3

It's great to play with Marcus Fenix again and play Horde better than ever. If you enjoyed the last two horde matches provided, you have to play this...very sweet and most impressed. Some reviewers complain about the campaign, but it's fine. Some of the levels are amazingly beautiful and highly's the title to finally show what an xbox one can do well. This is the title that makes owning an Xbox One worth it.

Amazing port!

The Coalition have really proved themselves with this game and it seems that they have learned from their mistake (Ultimate Edition PC) and really put a lot of effort into the PC port. The game itself is fantastic and I couldn't have asked for more from the coalition. The only thing I liked better in gears 3 was completing challenges to unlock new characters, camos, and horde abilities. The reason I am giving this game 3 stars is because: 1) The windows store sucks, REALLY sucks & 2) There is no cross platform versus/competitive play which is a huge letdown because the player base is probably going to die down fast on the multiplayer side of things, just force us to use a controller if we want to play with xbox users. I would really like to play versus with my xbox friends. I have an Xbox but I would MUCH rather play this game on my 144hz monitor.

Just not for me..

I made the mistake of spending $100 just because everyone else was hyped. I never played gears before so I wanted to try it out and I am not impressed. Bullet sponge enemies, dizzying camera while sprinting, ridiculous load times, repetitive 'oh no theres more' campaign, and just not new player friendly. I can see how veteran players would love it, but personally I should've spent the cash on Battlefield 1 like I planned on before I got lost in the trailers and reviews.

ERROR Connection Lost

The multiplayer is having a lot of issues for me. Most notably the connectivity, I am constantly thrown out of versus and horde games due connection errors. Often while the game is loading I Ioss connection and I am afraid this issue will only get worse with the full release of the game on October 11. Spawn killing is also problem especially in team deathmatch and arms race. Once you get trapped by the other team the game is over. There is good things here like the new horde mode but these issues really hurt my overall experence with the game. These issues are fixable so hopefully the Coalition will address them because if they are fixed Gears of War 4 can be great.
