Badland Games

Heart&Slash is a 3D brawler roguelike robot love story set in a world where machines are all that remains from human civilization. You play as Heart, a sentient robot fighting to escape the grip of the evil and all seeing machine QuAsSy (Quality Assurance Systems). But make no mistake, Heart&Slash is no walk in the park. Every death is permanent and means a new randomly generated level for you to start over with a different set of weapons and items you can use, new enemies to fight and secrets to explore. Heart&Slash offers players something new and challenging because it is not about mastering one system, rather adapting to what is provided and making the most of it.

Very fun and worth the money

Challenging permadeath with 100+ unlockable weapons and body parts. randomized weapons and levels means every playthrough isnt the same. from boxing gloves and shotguns to giant hammers and shurikens. each weapon has different combos that mesh well with other weapons. use the volt slicer to launch enemies into the air and then slam your flaming warhammer into the ground. the combat is great. strategically dodge or maybe get lucky and find a shield. did i mention you can upgrade your weapons and body parts or sell them for health? there is alot more to the game than i thought which made it worth the money to me. it doesnt deserve 1 star not even close. the character does run fast but you get use to it. and i never had a problem with the camera... worth 20 but if you catch this on sale its a no brainer

Amazing gameplay!

This game is addicting. If you like Dark Soulesc combat combined with Megaman Legends, then this is definitely a game worth picking up. My only problem with this game is that the camera controls can get a little wonkey sometimes, but, overall, still a solid experience.

Cute but needs work (LONG but has explanations why)

Now I have put in a decent amount of time playing and it's fun. HOWEVER, many issues are apparent across multiple playthroughs. The movement is fast and certain items make it worse (bdoss legs), combat isnt bad but its not good either. Weapons make or break the game, especially when it comes to the Hrt-Proto character. Ledges get glitchy and enemy combinations (rocket troops on ground and air) plus the camera will make almost impossible to see the character at times. Items can also trivialize the game leaving ease (or possibility) of progress purely to rng. If this game actually had updates and fixes I would really enjoy it but sadly those arent coming. WITH THAT IN MIND the game is still fun, just when rng lets it. if its on sale, get it, if not, I would pass.

needs more of....

This gameis really good with the story and the task you had to do for the ending. The reason i gave it 3 stars is because it needs more everything, it needs more endings, more weapons/armor, bosses, and more characters. Also i recommend you make it harder and if you want this game but dont want to spend alot of money just get it on sale.

Hidden Gem!

DEFINITELY worth the purchase. This game has a lot of HEART in it lol. Start it up, give it a chance, and you won't be disappointed. 🙂👍👏

One of my favorite games.

Honestly I loved this. I'm a fan of rogue like games and this one had great music, gameplay, items, and mostly a challenge to it. I 100% this game and the only thing i hope for is either DLC, a sequel, or Badlands to make more rogue likes for Xbox!!

OK game

Game can be fun. Fight, Die, Repeat. Has potential but, needs a lot of balancing. Game almost feels empty as the storyline, items, upgrades and health drop ratio do not come close to balancing with the fighting. I would consider this an average Rougue like game. But only worth getting when on sale.

It's alright

Combat is really rough, especially with flying enemies. Quite a bit of stuttering as well.

Solid roguelike

Minus the fact that there is no lock-on, the game is pretty solid

Stellar Indie Game

This game is hard at first but is quick to learn. Learning how to fight IN NO WAY makes the game any easier. The combat feels nice and tight. Your attacks feel strong but not broken. The soundtrack is stellar. This is a great game to come from an Indie Company. This game is for those who are looking for a casual yet intense game. If you have played Risk of Rain or a similar perma-death game, this game is for you.
