Could easily be so much better

Lets you read your kindle books on your computer, but that's all. Notes, highlights, dictionary, formatting, although technically available, are so buggy or poorly designed as to be useless, so it is really just a book reader. To its credit, illustrated (e.g. children's) books do naturally format well enough that the illustrations can be enjoyed page to page for the ones that I have. I suppose they want to make you use your kindle device, not this app, for any functions other than reading/viewing.

Not near as friendly as kindle for iPad or iphone

No quick way to get back to a table of contents. no way to scan multiple pages, for example a tour guide book. Once you've opened it and start using theres no way to move around and navigate to different parts of the book. Kindle for iPhone and iPad does do this.

Why so much worse than the iPad version?

I recently migrated from iPad to Surface, and Kindle is one of the apps that I use the most. After one week using it, I am extremely disappointed. The only thing this app has is a beautiful interface. That's all. It is sluggish to change pages or to highlight, in addition to annoying bugs (it starts with huge black borders, that go away once you tilt your surface twice, and the highlight box appears in different places). Please fix this. And Microsoft, if you want more customer for the Surface, you should nudge Amazon to do that.

What the F

At first I thought the worst thing about this app is the inability to group books into categories. The new one that takes the cake is that when the app isn't "ready for offline use" it makes you close the application. What the f**k? I have an internet connection and it say's it's not ready for "offline use" and then closes. The only way to get it to work is to get your credentials input before the notice pops up. I'm an avid fan of Amazon but the negatives are starting to add up, UVVU anyone?

Skip the Win 10 application, get the PC or cloud vers.

I this app and the PC download also the cloud reader have different features AND do not share content. I am confused which one I should use. No dictionary. Give the other a try. Especially if you have a high resolution screen. The application from the store seems the lesser of the three.

Could be better.

After 4 years of using on a Surface, it's still not as good as it could be. IT's better than it used to be. It's not user friendly, and it took me quite some time to figure out how to access features such as changing the size of the fonts, etc. One thing I'd like the developer to do is to allow us the ability to organize the books on our bookshelves, in whatever order we so choose. And I'd like to be able to remove borrowed books, which still appear on my Cloud, even though the borrowing time has long ended.

Easy Peasy!

This app is easy to use and works awesome! I love that I can pick up from where I left off on a book and it syncs from my kindle.

I spend money on books for school but cannot use them on Windows 10 because they're not compatible with Windows 8? I kinda need access to those books I've paid money for ON MY LAPTOP. I can't really understand what the problem is. I wouldn't rate the app low for an issue with the ebook, except that this incompatibility issue could/should be resolved at the app level.

Now it's broken

I love reading my textbooks on my Kindle app. Now with the new version it freezes and I haven't been able to read on my computer. I'm stuck using my phone, because the cloud reader can't open my text books. :(
