Great for scrabble fans\kids who need help spelling

I bought this game for my wife because it looked like something a scrabble fan would like. We have scrabble for XB1,she hated learning the contols for XB1. But this game drew her in so much, that she now plays scrabble, and Boggle on XB1. If you know a child who needs help with words this game is cute enough to draw them in but gets progressively harder. It uses classic adventure game fighting and leveling up systems. So it is an educational game that is super easy to get into and surprisingly addictive. I hate spelling games ,but as I tested it ,I couldn't put it down. Perfect for those who need help with words, and those that love word games.

An excellent word game/RPG hybrid that works!

Letter Quest is a large format remaster of a popular mobile game that combines the word finding fun of games like Scrabble or Boggle with an RPG-style progression system. The RPG leveling and unlocks keep you playing. It is relatively short at 40 levels (why couldn't this be procedural?), but there are 4 game types in each level, bringing the total to 160. The game types are fun and include both Time Trials and various Special Rules rounds. A separate Endless Mode lets you keep playing after you've unlocked everything in the main game. A few (very) minor gripes: 1. There is no way to shuffle the tiles in your rack, which can often make it easier to spot words. 2. You can swap tiles at the end of the level, which ruins one of the accumulator achievements. 3. The verification word list was odd at times. Excellent cartoon graphics and dual selectable soundtracks round out the package. All said, if you are a word game fan, this game should be part of your library!

Fun but repetitive

This game is pretty much what it is advertised as. Spell words defeat monsters upgrade repeat. Theres about 5 good special tile types that appear randomly and 5 bad special tile types that certain bad guys can infect you with. Some bad guys have special conditions("words require 2 vowels to hit") to hurt them. If you want to %100 all the levels or achievements you are in for a lot of the same. As an adult who isnt a great speller, I may have failed 4-5 times total over the 120 challenges, so this is probably better for younger children/teens. Graphics are nice, music is repetitive and I encountered no glitches/crashes/etc throughout. This game goes on sale often and fills a niche not oftten filled, so its worrth checking out when it hits your price threshold.

Great word game mixed with RPG elements

I like a good word game, and I like RPGs, so of course this is right up my alley. I got pretty hooked and it's not too tough to get the 1000gs. Probably a great game to bring the non-gamers in your life to the XBOne.

excellent word game/rpg

Letter Quest is a giant ball of fun if you are a fan of word games like Scrabble, Boggle and the like. The rpg flavor adds depth and dimension to an already entertaining game. I purchased it on sale but its definetely worth the full price.

Fun & addicting

A great blend of rpg & scrabble. Awesome music. I just wish it had some sort of online component, for example: 2,3, or 4 players teaming up to fight the endless dungeons together. But I guess you can pass the controller locally with as many people as you can. Great game.

BOGGLE on steroids 3.5 Stars

Description: It's the Parker Bros game BOGGLE (NOT Scrabble!) with character & equipment leveling / buffs, helpful potions, tile effects, and various scoring requirements. Your objective is to finish over 30 stages, each of which consists of enemies and sometime treasure chests to unlock and a traveling merchant. There are two modes - Story & Endless. Good for kids. Story : 1/10 - pathetic Graphics : 5/10 Sound : 6/10 Challenge : Story Mode : Easy Endless Mode : Good challenge (see below) Replay Value : 6/10 Achievements : 95% Easy 5% Blind, annoying luck Completion time : 7 - 15 hours for Story PROS: + Fun for vocabulary geeks of all ages + Decent enemy variety, scoring requirements, and game altering effects + 30+ stages CONS: - Can't resize the display so some people may have cut off edges - You can't always decide when to use certain helpful potions - Bug or Feature? I had a few fights that had a stated requirement & a 2nd Hidden one that I had to guess.

wife and I love it....needs to be in all schools as a learning tool for children of all ages!

Awesome RPG for someone who loves words

I was looking for a game similar to scrabble that I could play on the XBOX. The repeat value is very good. For the price, this game's a steal.
