Messing With "The Family"

Masquerade is an action platformer with a colorful sense of humor. Enemy spawn points are out houses and there's plenty of cheeky dialogue throughout all of the levels. Having to do five pushups in a row to get promoted? They are called the clown army afterall. The cinematics and cutscenes are also done well. There are some gameplay issues that mar the experience though. You can counter enemies when an icon appears over their head when they're about to attack but sometimes while fighting, they're out of view of the camera. Making you take a hit because you didn't know they were about to strike. The platforming areas can also be iffy. I fell to my death at times just shy of making the jump because I couldn't judge the distance well enough to make the landing. Achievements are not too tough but I recommend multiple playthroughs. All in one go will be frustrating. I enjoyed the game's style and humor and will get the sequel, hoping the issues here don't transfer over. Buy it on a sale.

What a way to burn 5 bucks

Great if I was 12 and couldn't afford an excellent game👎😠 OK Humour, GOD AWEFUL CAMERA, hit detection is spotty, very blah. I Recommend taking a bike ride into traffic or sticking toothpicks under your toenails and eating a booger sandwhich. They would be less painful than paying for this abortion of a so called game. The art style in 2D is nice. EVERYTHING else about this game is worse than a 24 hr hangover..............mic drop

An okay game with some chuckle-worthy moments, but ultimately brought down by it's poor counter-attack system and platforming.

♻ same old same old

I have nothing to say. Just the same old issues from other mediocre and forgettable platformers. Just don't ever buy this. The camera causes motion sickness and the story is just as bland as the whole game. I NEVER WANT TO SEE OR PLAY THIS GAME AGAIN! It would be a rare miracle if I ever do.
