Issues with android apps in Windows mobile

I have tried many times to get apps through the Google Play Store to no avail.I know google and a lot of it's applications are not native to Windows mobile phones.I have tried many times to download the Gmail applications there and none of them seem to want or do work as they should with my Nokia 635 Windows 8.1 based phone. Can someone please tell me how I can fix this issue?
