Great Media Player

I wasn't looking for anything fancy, just a media player that shows recently played media and easy to build playlists. This is great for that. It is lacking codec/file support, and playback settings (no options for return to home screen after playback, different views for file lists and the like) and not being able to add media folders is a drag but I really like using it so far.

Only plays music

This is a simple music player. Nothing close to useful except that. Add songs to playlists one at a time, can't customize where your music folders are.

No instructions!

Can't figure out how to open media on external drives on my Surface 2--micro card slot or USB port. Only seems to look for media in standard Surface set-up (on the hard drive). My tablet doesn't have enough capacity to put lots of music & videos on the hard drive. Info, please! 1 star--so far--for lack of instruction. Don't know how much I might like it if I can get it to access my files.

The app is very well-organized and simple, but there are many overlooked features: - There's no way to select all files or a range of files when opening media. - No in-app volume control except in Now playing. - Does not load m3u or m3u8 playlists. - There should be away to return home easily. Here I have to back many times.

The app allows you to create multiple playlists but in the end all playlists created after the first one have tracks from the first playlist and none from the ones you specified to be included in that particular playlist.

Almost well designed app

Just fix the bugs and add .MKV support, and it's by far the best media player (I would give it 5 stars and buy!) The fact that videos keep playing in the background when the tablet is in standby makes it the best for music videos! 3 stars is because there's no way to see the "now playing" list

MULTI MEDIA 8-the BEST Player for Surface 1 RT

I took me more than 1/2 a years but finally I found this Media Player. It is almost PERFECT for my need : Playlist of more than 4000 German words for me to hear again & again. It shows the names of the files, which I use as a lengthy Flashcard for each German word - meaning, conjugation, plural form, as well as sample sentences or interesting idiomatic usage. It also has LOOP PLAYBACK, ie repeat of the entire Playlist. But I cannot find how to repeat just 1 item ie 1 word, 1 flashcard, or 1 song. Windows Media Player somehow interrupts playing after a few minutes ie a few dozen of flashcard, whereas this MULTIMEDIA 8 keeps going all day, .... UNTIL my Surface run out of Battery ! I am so grateful for the Maker of this Player. VIELEN DANK..Many Thanks. MANY MANY THANKS.

Surface Pro 2 - Windows 8.1

I initially chose this App over Windows Media Player for it's UI and player-features. Unfortunately, over the course of just a couple of weeks, the inconsistencies of its stability outweighed the overall enjoyment of using it. Now it only freezes on its title screen when trying to open - which can double as an unattractive screen saver I suppose? Sometimes, however, if I'm lucky it'll actually surprise me and do something useful and shut itself off. Meh.

Ok for free

Very basic. To listen to multiple tracks you have to make a playlist. Songs are shown alphabetically by a medium sized album icon. Cumbersome and slow. Feels like an incomplete app. Some may like it? I don't.
