works now

update 7/16/16: at some point they fixed the app - now back to 4 stars... original post 8/2015: so my original Nook finally gave up the ghost and I needed a replacement. After verifying that this application worked well on my desktop I went ahead and picked up a new HP stream 7 and Win10, unfortunately the resolution of the app is not adjustable to work with a resolution of 1280x800. In all text setting cases I LOSE at least a line of text PER PAGE, as in not just have to scroll to see them - I CANNOT see them. Its a bummer since it means my entire Nook collection is no longer accessible except via desktop. Since I don't have this issue with other Apps - the problem really does lie with Barnes and Noble. If this gets corrected I'll revise this review - until then I can't rate it better than a single star. the ReaderPro epub reader seems to work fine with my DRM free books so that will be my goto choice - buy the books directly from the publisher and use a reader that works....

Mysterious as to controls!

Best adaptation of the electronic age I've found on a personal basis. I finally realized a couple of truths. 1) I seldom reread novel/fiction yet that is the preponderance of my reading. Why save them? 2) My collection will, save to a very few, be another "clutter" they'll have to deal with/dispose of. With an e-reader and connection to my account, those who do care have access to my eclecticism. 3) Now at this advanced age (70+), I can suggest "B &N" gift cards! Problems solved all around!

Simple and easy to use.

The app is very simple to use but lacks in its control of the font, foreground and background colors. I'd like to see options to change the colors. The 'Night' mode is plain black and white. The contrast is so strong that I actually need to change my Surface Pro 3's brightness to combat the lack of options within the Nook app. Other than that, this is the only reader that I use on this machine. I use it even without the extra options that would have made my rating a 5 instead of a 4. Good job and thank you for the work so far.

Good eBook Reader!

Overall, the Nook app is a good app for reading eBooks. This is especially true for readers on the go who use multiple devices. However, in order to purchase eBooks I have to use my laptop. Additionally, its not user friendly when managing your library. I tend to have to jump from one device to another depending on what task I need to perform. This is not always convenient.

NOOK book is great

I enjoy reading. The NOOK app is easy to use and allows me to pic up on any device where I left off. I would like a Windows Phone version as well.

Better than Kindle App for windows

This app is great for reading. But, it is even better for studying. Using highlights and notes helps with learning. I know both apps do that. But, Nook doesn't crash like Kindle does.

Pretty Awesome.

The app is organized and structured well making all my content easily accessible the only problem I've had so far is sometimes the app will just close when I'm trying to upload a file, and if I was loading multiple files at once then everything that was queued to be imported after such a file caused a crash then none of them will upload either instead of the program just skipping over that particular file. Still it works pretty great, I'm cool with it.

Could be a Better Reader but Customer Support is Awesom

I love the idea of being able to read from any of my devices, but sometimes there are still a lot of ebooks that are not formatted correctly. I've been using the app for several years and even though I adjust the text size, sometimes the text remains large and only a handful of words will appear on my screen. The customer service has been great in dealing with these issues, they are quick and helpful. In one case, the ebook was completely unreadable. The zoom feature did not work at all and I report this to customer service. Customer service replied that they "agreed" with my complaint and had it fixed within a week.
