I really wanted to like this game, I was a huge fan of the original overlord games. So I decided to buy this game even pre-release because I thought for sure that it was going to be great, but I was greatly mistaken so now I am $50 down and stuck with this "game" that is utterly useless. The controls and camera are very wonkey. There is no control over your minions, they run around and get themselves killed doing whatever they want. I wish I could rate this terrible excuse for a game zero stars because it certainly doesn't even deserve one.

Don't waste your money

If you loved the previous Overlord titles and want to preserve the memory of how funny, fun, and goofy they were do not play this. In no way does it live up to any of what you remember about them. For starters the game is riddled with bugs that constantly force you to restart the game just to move forward. If you can get over that then you have to deal with how hard you have to work to win because the minions are basically walking cosmetics in this title that only help by opening doors only they can access and the occasional fight where only they can attack and seem useful. You're forced to upgrade them and yourself through an extremely slow and tedious linear fashion which is hindered not only by their overpriced costs but your inability to grab all the coins needed for them because your minions only help pick them up on the first map you play anytime you load the game. If all you're after is the goofy story then please just find a video on youtube and ignore the issues you see.

Enjoyed the story

I enjoyed playing the game, however I was really disapointed that the minion controls were not similar to the other games. Was super excited when I heard this was multiplayer, itmakes the game both easier and more difficult. Not particularly happy with the treasure system either. Overall its a great game, just wish you could sweep the minions.

What not to do!

Codemasters took a game we all loved, and robbed it of ALL mechanics that ever made it great. It's a guantlet game with an Overlord skin. Don't support wrong direction and money grab of a company clearly on its way out.

So disappointed

I loved the previous Overlord games. Why the drastic chages? This is horrible. Save your money. Don't buy!

May as well be a mobile game, its that bad

Did you enjoy Overlord 1 and 2,did you hope for a follow up to them so you could enjoy the fantasy styled comedic yet badass gameplay again ,if you did avoid this at all costs. This game is short ****** and plays like a mobile tower defense game and takes everything that made the originals great out. If you miss overlord like i do you better hope for backwards compatibility because thats as close as youll get to more overlord.
