Awesome on Windows!

UPDATE (2016): Still running Plex, now on more devices than ever. Music, movies, TV apps, all of it. Travel the world and no matter where I go, as long as I have internet access I've been able to stream content - and the server/app continues to improve! __________________________________________________________ Original Review from 2012: Some little oddities here and there but still worth the pocket change to show support and value of efforts to the Plex team. For those with issues getting app to work, suggest you go to the Plex website and post details of what is happening in the forums. Anytime I've run into an issue with any of the platform versions of the app they engage and get to the bottom of it quickly. To the Plex team, thanks for rockin' a Win8 app so quickly.

Great, but...

It needs to handle more codecs. Plex Media Player handles everything, but the UI is horrid. It's setup for control/remote input and mouse navigation on it isn't good, at all. To search you have to hit the keys inside the app, with your mouse. You can't type your search using your keyboard. This app shouldn't transcode as much as it does. It shouldn't be transcoding flac and h.265. FLAC is open, so its not a license issue. Please make this app better, or the plex media player better. Either one needs some love.

Not Support Chrome Cast

Esta bien, pero lo único que le hace falta es compatibilidad con Chrome Cast....solo eso es lo que le falta.

Please Update!

It makes way more sense to see web like UI for windows 10. I think the current UI is still looks like Ugly windows 8 app!!

Plex responded on 7/19/2016

Hey there. Yesterday we published a massive update (version 3.0.31) to the app with a redesigned UI, which is more similar to the web interface.

Something is wrong

It seems like this app is not quit ready for prime time on windows 10. I paid for it to be activated without success... Wasted of time and money.

Love it, but still needs improvement

When this app works it's outstanding. That being said, I still encounter a few problems. If I stop playback and then try to resume after a short time I have to completely restart the app, sometimes even the whole phone to get it to work again. Playback also throws an error when transitioning from a local network (where my media server is) to a cellular network. This means I have to wait until I'm well away from my home before I can initiate playback.

Might As Well Just Use Browser Video Player

While the app make it easy to load Plex directly from within Windows 10, the fact that you have to pay $4.99 for the same functionality that is available with the free web browser video player is a pretty big waste of money. When watching with the app you are able to view one minute of video before the app goes back to the menu, that occurs when you have not activated the app (for $4.99). Enjoy the web browser version for free on any device! ^_^

Best media app I have ever used

I have implemented MyServer and Serviio, but far this is the best and the easiest Media server I have every used. I love the native 8.1 app on my surface, and love it on my 8.1 Phone...thank you Plex team. My son's have there implementation of it and I can share my Media with them. Also the RasPlex is awesome as well....amazing

The Best

The app works well and is very responsive. Resuming content works great. The UI is very clean and the UX is well done with both Keyboard / Mouse & Touch options. I'm using it on a slower i3 Desktop and a speedy i7 laptop and the experience is great on both. The Plex app on Windows 10 is fantastic but it's only because of everything else that Plex offers. The entire suite is really fantastic. I've been using media players since the days of WinAmp and this product is the best. Do yourself a favor and get a PlexPass and never look back. It's the best!
