Was Great - Needs Update
When YouTube still used flash player for videos, this app topped the store for an "as close as you can get" YouTube app. Ever since the switch from flash to HTML5, this app has stopped working and the developer hasn't brought any news of an update. I give 4 stars for the fact that the potential can be returned if the dev updates the app.More
What's the point?
The app looks good but the main point of it is to watch YouTube videos, is it not? Well maybe if ANY videos at all showed up, the app would deserve the one star I gave it only because I can't give negative numbers.More
Doesn't even work.
Tried to use it a few weeks ago and it doesn't function properly. It simply does not stream videos lol.More
Useless, dead app.
"Most elegant"? This is completely non-functional. You give it permission to access a Youtube account, and it does absolutely nothing. It will not retrieve any videos whatsoever from Youtube. Any search shows up with no results. My favorites, playlists, history, etc. all show up empty, and the one single video that did happen to appear among all of that, showed up with an error and would not play.More
This app just plain sucks! I signed in and waited almost two minutes too long for videos to show up on my subscription page, nothing... Tried doing a search, never left the page I was on. Download it if you doubt the reviews, I doubted when I should have believed.More
App stopped working since YouTube ditched Flash player and switched to HTML 5 couple of weeks ago. None of the videos play. I just installed Hyper even though I don't like the layout much and it plays the videos fine. Is a fix anytime coming soon? Original review. It's not only the best YouTube app for Windows 8, it's also one of the best Windows 8 app. UI of this app is great and the options are also plenty. In particular the option to download the files is very useful. One minor issue I would like to report is that some of the downloads are reported finished but really don't download. In the downloads section, delete option doesn't seem to work.More
Best YouTube until proven otherwise
I've been with PrimeTube since its much earlier stages, and I consider it the gold standard Win 8.1 viewing app for YouTube on both of my devices. I've tried others and been impressed with a feature or 2, but in short order, PrimeTube uses some sort of sixth sense and incorporates a similar or improved version of the feature(s) in an timely update. Kinda creepy but awesome, right? Thanks, APP LYF, and keep it up. Blessings. UPDATE: Incidently, "The video failed to play." has (temporarily?) taken over the outstanding video streaming experience I enjoyed so much . Here's hoping...More
Good design but features missing
This app is designed great! However, it's not very user friendly in that it's hard to figure out how to do certain things - for example, to add a video to a playlist, one has to hold long press a video, which, for some users, may not even come to mind. Also, it's a little buggy and crashes often. If there were a help window that came up on the first startup and a little more work on stability, 5 stars all the way ;)More
One of the best Youtube app for Wndows
PrimeTube is probably one of the best youtube apps on windows today. I really like the user interface since it is almost like the interface found on the version for Window Phone. Easy navigation. Definitely recommended although I think there are areas that improvement should be made. Highly recommended.More
Just Glad YouTube Glitch Seems To Be Gone
To be honest I accidently downloaded this app when I tried to click the back button, but so far I'm glad I did. I like watching videos in YouTube, but every time I try to use the actually YouTube site I get a "page can not be displayed error". I was unable to find a fix online that would enable me to keep watching videos at YT's site so I thought I would try an app. So far I really like what I see here. I only have 2 real complaints, 1) their are tiles that contain ads for windows apps that appear in your search results, and related video windows, and 2) if you have a YouTube channel you can only access whatever videos, or playlists you have on it, to access all other channel functions require you to go to the YT site. I would defiantly recommend this app to anyone who has a problem playing YT videos on a Windows 8.1 PC. Depending on how you use YT, you might want to download 2 different YT apps. One to pin to your desktop, and one for you start menu.More
