Your character dies, but with each passing your lineage grows and becomes stronger. • Tons of unique traits making every play through special. Want to be dyslexic? Now you can! • 10 different classes to master! Each class comes with unique abilities that change the way you play the game. • All wizards have beards. Regardless of gender. • Over 60 different enemies to test your skills against. Hope you like palette-swaps! • Equip your heroes with powerful weaponry and armor, and imbue them with special abilities like flight, dash, and air jumping. • A wicked sweet soundtrack. • Massive, expandable skill tree. Rack in the loot and upgrade your manor, giving your successors a wicked sweet edge. • Wicked sweet fart jokes.

constant progression makes for best type of rogue game

Love this type of game. Nearly endless upgrades. max out will take 100's hours. Snce uppdate there more variety in castle types and new enemies. Love binding of Isaac but I find rouge legacy and toy odyssey far more addicting once you've died and upgraded gear and move set. Rogue legacy has shovel knight gameplay crossed with RPG rogue Castlevania with a touch of binding of Isaac with random abilities with each playthrough. Legacy has permanent upgrades and moves but spells and knight type are random generated after each death. You play as one of three of your offsprings.

Fantastic game

I expected to not like this game, but I loved it. Yes, it is hard, especially at first. But after I gave it 15 to 20 lives I was hooked. You die, but each life you earn coins for power-ups, find new gear, and then it gets easier. You also learn the enemies and their patterns so you get more skilled. The game has a core basic layout, but beyond that it's procedurally generated so each time there's new exploration, new risks to take, so it doesn't become a dull game of memorization. It's a good game to go back to when you only have a few minutes to play, and once you get good it can be a relaxing game where your brain can just tune out.

Love it!

This game is awesome, a solid platformer with simple yet challenging combat, and the art style is amazingly clever! 👍

A niche game that's a little lazy

the whole concept of lineage is cool, but defendants that are female often have beards, which bugs me to no end because why have females if they don't get their own sprites? with that aside the game requires a rune of some sort to dash. it's hard to go anywhere past level 1 with how many times you die feeling like a noob. Classes seem almost meaningless, but with certain necessary mechanics missing until you get far enough i can't be sure enough to tell. this game sounds good but it's presented very crudely.

I feel cheated

The game itself is great but the developers lied about co-op, What looks to be simple passing the controller to a friend while n your playthrough and saying "here give it a try" does not classifie as co-op. I would love the game more if I was told how to play with my friend.

Really tough, but really fun

the only problem I have with this game is the "legacy" part, where when you die you pick a heir and they usually have some quirk or handicap ,and its all random so you may not even get to play the same class in a row

If you love roguelike and rouge-lite games, you'll love RogueLegacy. There's enough here to keep you coming back over and over. Massive value.
