Design your own rocket ships. Blast off into space. Explore the solar system. See if you have what it takes to be a rocket scientist.
Choose and connect parts together to build rocket ships. You can choose from a variety of rocket engines, fuel tanks, and other gizmos. You can even build rovers with powered wheels. You are only limited by your imagination.
Blast off from any planet you want. You can fly through the intense atmosphere of Venus, or you can take advantage of the low gravity of Mercury. Whip around the sun and launch yourself out to the far reaches of the solar system.
Several challenges are built into the game so you can see who can go the fastest, fly the farthest, orbit with the least amount of fuel, land on the moon, and so much more.
Kepler wrote the equations 400 years ago, and SimpleRockets uses those equations to model extremely realistic orbital physics. Players will learn about rocket science and astrodynamics while they are having a blast exploring the solar system. This makes SimpleRockets ideal for the classroom, or as a healthy alternative to the barrage of brainless games available on the App Store.
* Build rockets however you want
* Configure rocket stages
* Launch from any planet in the solar system
* Realistic rocket physics and orbital physics
* Sandbox mode
The game was awesome for a few days, and then the bugs started. First, obviously, there's no sound. Then the screen occasionally goes black. And the worst, now everytime I play, it crashes if I go between map and rocket view. Please fix, because I love this game.
This game is very addictive and worth the price, but I do have a few suggestion I think, could make this game 5 stars.
1. The sound doesn't play, I've checked everything and have come to the conclusion the problem is a bug or design flaw.
2. Add retro-rockets for turns and reverse thrust.
3. Wider fuselages and fuel tanks.
4. Coloring options.
5. Guided (locked) trajectory, such as being able to lock on a planet or moon and the rocket will automatically move towards the locked target.
6. Add asteroids and satellites.
If added, this game would be incredible.
Nerdy physics fun. Love building ships and experiencing the challenges. Challenges are mainly training missions, but are done so in a very fun way. Leader boards across platforms is a really nice touch. Totally worth $0.99 cents. There is soooo much value in this game.
That being said there is room for improvement. No sounds on WP version. Occasionally the "camera" will go blank. Building ships in the editor gets clunky after your ship gets about 15 parts or larger, but it works. Gets a little "framy" sometimes, and it warms up my phone. Really drinks the battery.
Those are about my only gripes. Not deal killers, but certainly glad to see this on Windows Phone. Please make a Windows 8 version as well and I will buy it.
