Not as advertised

Either not as advertised-that you can 'video call' from phone app, or It's not intuitive enough to figure out how to make that work. I echo other reviews about skype /people hub contacts. Should add integration like Facebook.

Great app but has some not-so serious flaws.

I really like this app because it is simply better than the skype desktop app. This app is more reliable than the desktop version, and this app works almost seamlessly with Windows 10. Having said that, the only complaint that I have with the app is the fact that this app does not work with virtual desktops. Often times, when I have this app in another desktop, it will not notify me of messages or calls. If this could be fixed, i would thoroughly enjoy this app to its full potential, and i would give this app a 5 star review. Otherwise, great job, Microsoft!

My webcam won't even work on this

I have a HP all-in-one and the intergraded camera was not the one that should have been installed and they sent me an external webcam HP 4310 HD. worked fine on my old program of skype version 7.27 . But when windows updated to the windows 10 anniversary update it installed the skype preview and now I can't video call. My tools and options are gone also. the preview is only compatible with an HP HD 2500 I believe that's the model..... come on Microsoft couldn't you leave well enough alone. Will be uninstalling the preview......DO NOT LIKE IT!!!!

Management

Skype is a great tool if it were like we know it can be. They is no ability to manage conversations, I.e. deleting or otherwise. Picture quality fluxes even over really good wifi.

Microsoft ruined this

This app used to be so easy to use. Now, the menus are difficult to navigate. They were supposed to merge you skype account with your Microsoft account and all they did was make a mess of it.

Microsoft's best, still lags every other messaging app

Better than anything Microsoft has done in the past, but still seriously behind other messaging apps on Windows Phone: - Can't send video, can't share multiple photos at once, nor conveniently look at previously sent media. - Don't know if a message was read, and can't check the time stamp of old messages. - Phone-video calling is extremely unreliable, easily worse than Line or WhatsApp, which is unforgiveable if you consider where skype comes from. I mean, once connected it's skype quality, but the software is so buggy that one ends up making regular phone calls instead. Tired of one failed attempt after another.

Bad Connection Video and Sound

Constantly dropping video calls, slow buggy. Sound is like through a tunnel and I am constantly having to close and open the app. No way to delete conversations.

Updating after each call

After using skype preview with a video call, the app updates itself for hours. I know it is a preview but c'mon, this is just frustrating to use especially when my phone is the only device I have with me right now. Would MS prefer us using a different app instead until they fix what's broken with skype?

This is not Skype Preview

After installation finished, it appeared to be JUST A LINK to download normal Skype. Nothing to do with Skype Preview.

Like the New look Yet missing features

I like the look of this app version compared to the normal skype but it's lacking so many things that I would go back to other one. First thing I noticed there's no way to set up hotkeys. I like being able to mute myself quickly then pulling up skype to do so. Another annoying thing is minimizing the app then opening it causes the contacts to be shown as if online. Waiting a few seconds for it to connect is not annoying but it does after a while. Could be much better

Messes with Lumia 640 email & account settings.

My wife has a Lumia 640, running Windows Mobile 8.1. Installed the latest Skype app to allow her to see her newest granddaughter. While visiting to be present for the birth, she informs me that she can't receive emails on her phone anymore. When she returned, I confirmed that when you tried to open any of the apps of the three different Windows email accounts created, they would act as if they were opening, then revert back to the home screen. While trying to track down the issue, I discovered that the same thing happened when I tried to check the "Email & Accounts Settings". Wouldn't open either. Was on the verge of doing a system reset to try to get things back to where they were, (because you can't have an unhappy wife) when I saw that someone posted having the same issue after installing Skype. Uninstalled and rebooted, and everything is back to normal. It hasn't been a problem on my Lumia 650, running Windows Media 10, but will not be installing on the wife's phone.
