😒 Failing Skype

I really loved using skype but force to give 2 star. The video chat and massaging was awesome. Since the upgrade can't delete old messages. I can see the person but they can't see me. I uninstalled now it will not install saying error, first in 2yr of using Skype ever had problem until this last upgrade. A the freezing and chopped conversation. It not my phone. This is the only way to talk to family in other places.

overall it is fine, but needs some polishing

Messages that were read on another PC are displayed as unread. I can't start text chat by double-clicking contact from some group conversation. And when it was just installed, looks like it syncs data as most contacts are appearing as if they haven't shared details with me, and I can't write messages to them because of that. But overall the app is more pleasant than original Skype, and I really enjoy the dark theme a lot.

What

I really don't understand Skype or Skype Preview. I turned on my computer one day and there it was. It was also on my WinPhone when looked at it. So use it to text people, fine. It doesn't receive pics. That's not good. And also the biggest problem. I can't video call people. I have free minutes with my Office sub, not that I need them, but how on earth do you video call aka "skype" someone? I just don't understand. I can't "skype" anyone in my contacts. Does this mean no one has skype or is the app broke?

Almost Flawless Since the Lastest Update!

I primarily use Skype for group chat, and although I always found the universal version of Skype more accessible than the basic desktop one, problems like being slow to load text messages and going to the end of the list instead of starting from first unread message stopped me from using it. However since the latest update as of the date of my comment, most of these issues have been resolved and finally I'm content with it. Thanks a bunch!

Can't even attach a picture without the app crashing

Can't even attach a picture without the app crashing endlessly. Other apps can navigate attaching with no problem, but Microsoft's skype trying to attach pictures from Microsoft's photos on Microsoft's OS on Microsoft's 950 can't manage such a simple task

Missing some features

The miniature video window that appears when the client is minimized is missing from this version. Regular skype has this feature and unfortunately, with it missing from Skype preview, I cannot use this program.

Don't bother with new SMS integration

I like skype, but the new SMS integration failed almost every test I tried. I turned on SMS, opened to see all my existing conversations, this worked. I added a mobile number to a skype contact, opened the existing skype conversation for that contact, saw no way to switch to SMS, strike 1. I tried to create a new conversation with that same contact using SMS, it opened the existing conversation and would only send a skype message, strike 2. I created a new SMS conversation with an existing phone contact and it chose the home number instead of the mobile number so I couldn't send them an SMS, strike 3. Now I cant delete the failed SMS conversation, strike 4. I turned the SMS integration off. Welcome back to the Messaging app.

Good but could be better

There are some things I like about this new Skype Preview. I like the new dark background and the ability to receive and send sms messages from this one app. A couple of things I don't like are: 1) I was able before to copy several lines of a conversation and paste it in another conversation. Now I can only copy one line at a time. 2) It sometimes takes several minutes for me to receive messages. I can hear my phone receive and then about 10 minutes later it will appear on my pc.

Drained my battery

I had this installed for a while, so maybe a recent update was to blame but my phone couldn't hold a charge for more than a couple hours. Uninstalled Skype preview and now battery is lasting all day.

So so

I use it on my surface 2 and it usually has to drop a call by saying it ''can't connect'' and doesn't show my face, its as if I'm in the dark. But I'm not!
