New Reverb Effect – In addition to the three existing slider-controlled effects EQ, Delay, and Volume, we've added a new effect: reverb. Change Slider Effects Assignments – You can now easily change which of the four available effects are assigned to the three hardware sliders, and the assignments are saved within each song. Preservation of Recorded Effects Curves – Unique combinations of effects can be recorded on the whole mix and individual tracks, and the effects you’ve recorded are preserved if you swap or change the slider assignments. Well.. lame if you have no Music cover
Requires a music cover keyboard to use. May be awesome at that point, not going to expend effort looking for one, especially since I have a Surface Pro 4. Funny how apps show up on the store for people who can't run them.More
This app is beautiful, in its concept and layout. The idea of the attachable keyboards is a great one, and the way the app is set up flows smoothly and cleanly. Creating music with this app is easy and fun. You just better have a Surface and the Music Kit Keyboard!More
Why is there not a version of this for Desk/Laptops?
You finally make an audio editing/mixing software.... and you stick it on the one thing the average person doesn't possibly own or even use it on... are you out of your mind?... Change the name to just "Music Kit", make it available to all versions of Windows 10 and not just the Surface, and if you even care about what the average consumer wants, you will make it "SIMPLE AND EASY TO USE" like Garageband or Logic Pro. This is one of the main reasons why people have chosen Mac over Windows over the years and you still don't seem to get it.More
It's not just that you need the music cover to "register" this app; you can't use it at all.More
Needs additional hardware
You need the Music Blade (cover) in order to run the app. Unfortunately, this cover seems impossible to find. Cannot locate anywhere on the interwebs a place to purchase the Music cover. Guess I'll look elsewhere to spend my Christmas cash. How very disappointing!More
I'm remix master!
Only thing missing is a time indicator for playing or a preview mode.More
It's nice but it still feels a bit raw. You're limited to 2 effects, low pass filter and echo -I'm a reverb guy myself. You can't record sounds directly into the app, you can import from your sound recorder and then edit the sample, it's ok but it takes longer than it should. No musical keyboard or synths, so everything has to be sampled. I still prefer FL Studio Groove, but they don't implement the music kit yet. Not bad!More
You need the music cover in order to use it...and Microsoft discontinued making the cover. It should be removed from the store!!!More
Music never sounded so fun - Update
Update: The music cover has not worked since the 8.1 update for me. I tried going back to windows 8, but then it won't let me install the app. Anyone find a workaround for this? Total letdown. I really enjoyed this app, but now it's just worthless. Microsoft if you are willing to hand this over to a new team to support I would be willing to maintain and update the code for you! "I really like what Microsoft started here, unfortunately it hasn't changed much since its inception. I would love to see some added features like a way to add batches of sounds and libraries, and maybe some customization on the buttons and sliders. It would be nice to be able to get rid of the download more section which randomly cycles blank tiles, and I would love to be able to upload cover art for my own saved files. So far so fun though!"More
