Example of how not to port web site to win10 app

This is a poorly ported application. How did something with so many visual flaws make it to a production application!? I would be fired if I released something this bad! United! Care a little bit about your brand! I have downloaded this app on my surface pro 3 and when I open up the app I see words overlapping making everything illegible. Also, since it is just a port of the web site, it does not have any of the mobile tools you would get on the phone. Can't access in flight entertainment. Also, United, Windows 10 supports JavaScript and HTML for application development so that web developers can us there current skills to make window apps. Not for cheap copy and paste jobs, that so far as I have seen, fail each time. Please step your game up.

Don't install this, does not work on windows

Text is unreadable and overlapping, and some fonts are so small they are unreadable. Whoever developed this was an amateur, clearly it hasn't been tested at all or they just don't really care if it works. Also there is no entertainment option like the IOS app, so don't expect to be able to use this for watching in-flight movies. I don't see the point in creating this app, it doesn't do anything their website doesn't have and its completely unusable. Hopefully United tests their planes better than their software.

Nearly Unusable

Overlapping text makes it difficult to hit buttons. Did anyone actually test this out before publishing it? United should either be ashamed of developing this app themselves or get their money back from the 12 year old who did it for them. Same computer using the web interface is much faster and text is not overlapping or impossible to click.

you can do better

would not print boarding passes. slow. home page text overlapped. better to use tablet version or web. expected better

Terrible app

I've never been compelled to write a review of any app... until now. I can't believe United has pushed this out without seemingly tested it. I installed it with the hope of watching in flight movies. First thing I notice is screen layout is not correct and some text overlays others. I hover over the checkbox to remember my login, but no change in cursor until I randomly move the cursor in the vicinity of the text. Next thing I try to bring up the menu items associated with 'Travel information', but moving the cursor to one of the submenu items immediately hides the list. I tried for 30 minutes while in flight to figure out how to access the movies without success. To top everything off, after landing and getting an internet connection, I clicked on the link to the right to send Site Feedback, and got a browser error because of some unknown file type that was trying to be opened. I can only assume the product wasn't well tested on a Surface Pro3

Love this app

This is the same info as on the monitors in the airport. You can set alerts and reminders as well as view upgrade status

Formating bad

On the Windows 10 app, sizing of text, etc is such that it overwrites other text. Doesn't anyone test this stuff at the range of screen resolutions the hardware provides?

Doesn't work on surface

I have this app on my iPhone and iPad and it works great. I put it on my surface and it doesn't even have a link for the entertainment. I end up watching movies on my phone. I eventually found a way to get to the entertainment through searching and then it said I wasn't connected to the WiFi which I was. Its just a mess on the surface. Very frustrating.

Hopeful

I have recently switched over to as a new Windows tablet user. Was an iPad user and did not have any issues. I didn't like having to watch movies on the personal device and running out of battery. I'd rather leave be able to work on the tablet. Anyway, setting up for my next few months of travels. I'll try to remember to give an update. Have safe travels , everyone!
