Getting Better

I use the standard Win application which has been great for years. Figure I would give this a try. Hard crashed once building the list of videos in the background. I always thought of VLC as a video player first, never used it for anything else. I use it to play exercise videos and have folders for each set of videos. In Files view, I wish it would default to Videos instead of Music. Otherwise, playback seems pretty solid on a 2 year old HP laptop running Windows 10. 04/08/16 - Default home view added recently, I can now set it to open to Videos by default.

Good app for mobile devices not desktop/laptop

It has a nice clean interface and plays all the formats that VLC are known for. However, on a non-mobile device when compared to the standalone desktop client it cannot be relied upon. The lack of features like playlists, context menus and inconsistent scaling make using it inconvenient. Additionally it freezes and becomes unresponsive quite easily. If you are viewing on mobile/tablet then this may be a good option. I cannot recommend this over the standalone VLC player for desktop/laptop as it falls way short in comparison.

Audio quality could be a lot better

The app is promising and have a nice UI, but I couldn't use as my default audio player, the audio quality is pretty bad. Waiting for updates.

Excellent app

This app has a very good user experience, nice and different UI, and great performance. It has high resolution images for album art (THANK YOU -- The ones on Groove hurt my eyes; I didn't manually add 1024x1024 pictures to my music for nothing), is very fast and responsive, and does all jobs well. I believe this app is the way to go forward -- waiting for Microsoft to add contracts with Win32 apps so that those apps can plug in to play with VLC like they do with the desktop version. (This one is miles better on my high DPI display) Very well done, developers. Keep it up! Update: It would be great to see support for online music libraries like OneDrive. You could connect to a Microsoft account and have all music stream from there - then this will have all features of Groove and more!

Awesome, but some fixable flaws

Very good, finds album cover art and artist art well. How it is laid out is nice but hard to create new playlists without it being tedious and no volume control on the music. Cant change metadata either as there is no save button

Truly a showcase for modern apps

This app has come a long way. Most of the bugs have been addressed. Playlists are still kind of difficult (needs multi track selection). It's a really great option if you need something more than the stock Groove app but not every feature from the desktop VLC player. Bonus: it looks spectacular visually

needs work

the app don't work as good in windows 10 as the program does, it crashes often sometimes they'll be green lines in the top or bottom of the frame when playing a movie when u activate subtitles it sometimes makes the video lack, it takes to long to open, i've always love VLC since day one when it came out this app just need a little more work but other then that it's great I love the way you can display all your music and choose from the library I can't wait for new updates and see it improved. thank you vlc
