Following last year\u2019s release of Somali and Zulu, this release highlights our continued efforts of empowering African language communities to achieve more. Microsoft Translator now supports:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>chiShona (7 million speakers)<\/li>\n<li>Hausa (72 million speakers)<\/li>\n<li>Igbo (40 million speakers)<\/li>\n<li>Kinyarwanda (10 million speakers)<\/li>\n<li>Lingala (65 million speakers)<\/li>\n<li>Luganda (21 million speakers)<\/li>\n<li>Nyanja (1 million speakers)<\/li>\n<li>Rundi (12 million speakers)<\/li>\n<li>Sesotho (14 million speakers)<\/li>\n<li>Sesotho sa Leboa (15 million speakers)<\/li>\n<li>Setswana (13 million speakers)<\/li>\n<li>Xhosa (10 million speakers)<\/li>\n<li>Yoruba (55 million speakers)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>This brings our total number of supported languages to 124 and adds language support for more than 335 million people in Africa and worldwide.<\/p>\n<p>Text translation for the 13 new African languages is available now in the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.microsoft.com\/translator\/apps\/\"><strong>Microsoft Translator apps<\/strong><\/a>, Office, and\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.bing.com\/translator\"><strong>Translator for Bing<\/strong><\/a>.\u00a0Using\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/azure.microsoft.com\/services\/cognitive-services\/translator\/\"><strong>Translator, a Microsoft Azure Cognitive Service<\/strong><\/a><strong>,<\/strong>\u00a0you can add African languages\u2019 text translation to your apps, websites, workflows, and tools; or use Translator\u2019s Document Translation feature to translate entire documents, or volumes of documents, in a variety of different file formats preserving their original formatting.
