Carlos de Torres is the Vice President, US for ISV, Industry and Private Equity within Microsoft. Leading Microsoft's US Partner Development Team in charge of driving growth with ISVs (Integrated Software Vendors), Industry verticals (i.e. Financial Services, Healthcare, Education, Manufacturing, Retail and Public Sector) and Private Equity Partnerships. Responsible for a multi-billion dollar business, accelerating Microsoft Partners transformation to the Cloud, building the Industry Partner capacity & capability, and driving strong Partner preference on Microsoft’s platform.
As a member of the Microsoft family since 2010, Carlos has worked for Microsoft in Spain, Canada and the United States. Carlos brings diverse business experience in the Device Sales, Advertising & Online, and the MSP Partner channel segments. He was formerly the North America VP Device Sales within Microsoft. He lead a team across Sales and Product Category, working with OEMs (MNAs, NA and SB) and Channel Partners throughout the United States and Canada. This team drives new customer experiences and co-creates new business opportunities around Windows devices in a multi-billion-dollar market. Prior to that role, Carlos was GM of the US Hosting & Cloud Services (US HCS) division, where he managed a +$2B business, playing a key role driving the cloud transformation and ensuring strong cross-group collaboration across customer segments and business groups. Before to coming to the US, Carlos was the Canada VP, Advertising and Online, and the OEM Lead for Microsoft in Spain, his country of origin.
Prior to Microsoft, Carlos held several senior manager roles at Telefonica for almost 10 years, where he led the successful development of the retail and SMB sales forces. As an entrepreneur, Carlos has been involved in several projects across Europe. Carlos has a degree in Computer Science Engineering, an MBA from IESE and is a SEP Stanford graduate.
Carlos resides in the Pacific Northwest with his wife, Carol, and two children. He is deeply involved in the community, developing better education through the integration of technology into the learning process. Carlos is passionate for architecture and interior design, skiing, sailing and simply enjoying time together with family and friends.
