VirTool:Win32/Obfuscator.ABO are a group of programs that hide their purpose to avoid analysis and detection by your security software.  To do this they use a combination of encryption, compression, anti-debugging and anti-emulation techniques.

These techniques are used by a number of different kinds of malware. The malware that lies "underneath" can have almost any purpose.
