The Windows Server 2012 R2 <a href=\"http:\/\/technet.microsoft.com\/en-us\/evalcenter\/dn205286.aspx?WT.mc_id=Blog_WS_Update_WS2012\">evaluation experience<\/a> and has also been updated to the new OS image. The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.microsoft.com\/Licensing\/servicecenter\/default.aspx?WT.mc_id=Blog_WS_Update_WS2012\">Volume Licensing Service Center<\/a> will be updated on April 14, 2014 and the new image will be coming to Azure soon.<\/p>\n<p>We encourage you to apply this update to your Windows Server 2012 R2 systems as soon as possible. As a reminder, this becomes the new servicing baseline for Windows Server 2012 R2 systems, so next month&#8217;s security updates (i.e. May &#8220;patch Tuesday&#8221;) will be dependent on Windows Server 2012 R2 Update being installed.<\/p>\n<p>Windows Server 2012 R2 Update is categorized as &#8220;security update&#8221; because it includes two new security fixes (as well as all previously-issued fixes since Windows Server 2012 R2 RTM). Separate versions of these security fixes (<a href=\"http:\/\/support.microsoft.com\/kb\/2922229?WT.mc_id=Blog_WS_Update_WS2012\">KB2922229<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/support.microsoft.com\/kb\/2936068?WT.mc_id=Blog_WS_Update_WS2012\">KB2936068<\/a>) are also available for those organizations that aren&#8217;t yet ready to deploy the full Windows Server 2012 R2 Update.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Following our announcement from last week, we are happy to announce that Windows Server 2012 R2 Update is now generally available through Windows Update.
