Trusted fishing company embraces Dynamics 365 for better claim management

Pescatlantic Group—founded in Miami in 1987 with a single fishing boat—now produces, supplies, and commercializes yellowfin and bluefin tuna, as well as other premium species, for customers across North America. Pescatlantic Group has grown into one of the most respected fishing enterprises in the industry. To employ a solution that could best fulfill its workflow requirements, the business recognized that it needed to upgrade from its on-premises Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2009 instance to cloud-based Dynamics 365 Business Central. Korcomptenz worked with Pescatlantic Group to migrate the company to the new environment.

Customer challenges

Pescatlantic Group's customer order workflow relied on manual input of data, but it needed to conform to daily price sensitivity and other parameters such as credit limits, claims, and returns. The company sought a way to improve and automate its processes, from order and inventory management to delivery.

Other needs included optimizing management for all scenarios of claims made, approved, or rejected; automating collection methodology and workflow; and moving vendor management from Excel sheets to auto-generated reports.

Partner solution

Korcomptenz customized the Pescatlantic Group business processes that are triggered by delivery of products to its customers. These include grading of the products; price changes based on product grading; product returns based on quality or grade requirements; credit memos for any price changes or returns; and sales order cancellations based partly or fully on returns. 

These processes are valid only if they happen within 24 hours of the delivery. By fully automating the processes that lead to various financial postings, the adjustments now happen automatically in Dynamics 365 Business Central.
