Versar unifies its global data tracking and reporting thanks to Xoriant’s expertise and Microsoft solutions

Versar’s sustainable solutions help clients reduce carbon footprint

Based in Washington, D.C., with 13 global locations, program management firm Versar uses Salesforce and Costpoint to manage its sales data and handle new opportunities, project statuses, financial data, and other business functions in its critical engineering proposal workload management process. Additionally, Versar used Microsoft Excel to maintain its on-premises data used for reporting.

Versar sought to automate its data capturing, processing, and reporting capabilities to save time, maximize vital resources, and offer more effective reports for building business cases.

Azure Synapse Analytics and Power BI optimize data processes

Versar contacted Xoriant to implement its X·CELERATE Insights analytics solution, available in the Azure Marketplace. Founded more than 30 years ago, Xoriant is a technology leader and execution partner for companies that create technology products and enterprises that use those products to implement business solutions. 

Xoriant created ETL pipelines to seamlessly move the required data from Versar's Salesforce and Costpoint databases. The Azure Synapse Analytics experts at Xoriant collaborated extensively with the Versar team to identify the data sources, frequency, and data loading requirements for each data source entity. This enabled Xoriant to design semantic models for Power BI reports and dashboards to simplify data relationships. Ultimately, Xoriant developed two analytical reports and drill-down reports using the provided views of the data warehouse, as well as Power BI reports intended for internal users.
