Office 365―in and out of classes
Office 365 allows for multi-access work on joint projects, using Microsoft Word, Excel, Sway, and PowerPoint. But that’s not all. Thanks to OneNote, teachers can easily prepare class scenarios along with multimedia materials. This tool organizes the teacher’s work in a modern way. Students gain a handy, mobile notebook, which they can share with their friends, solve different tasks and verify the correctness of their notes. An addition to the conducted classes is the Forms tool, serving the creation of quick tests before classes to revise and perpetuate the knowledge from previous lessons―all within the reach of a few clicks on a computer or smartphone.
Office 365 is a great enhancement to school management. “It speeds up the information flow, makes it possible to send information to all the workers, and enables several users to work on documents remotely (co-editing). Installing the application on the telephone means instant access to official mail (no spam), documents, and materials. The program greatly enhances the preparation and analysis of surveys,” explains Betleja.
“The school secretary sends out all the most important communications, requests, and other information through the mail that is generally used by everyone. The Associate Director makes available the replacements, celebrations and competitions. There is a possibility to edit and add one’s notes and proposals which are visible to everyone,” notes Piotr Wanat, Director at First Secondary School.
In OneDrive, the current documents related to the work of the school are made available: model protocols, applications, and reports. Thanks to OneDrive, the school is also withdrawing from paper filing, which is time-consuming, and the storage of documents requires much space. The school has also become eco-friendlier by saving 30 percent of the paper that was previously used in administrative work per year.
Another novelty enhancing the cooperation among teachers is the virtual teachers’ room created on SharePoint. It allows users to quickly browse the current and planned events at school and important information. “Additionally, such elements as the school events calendar, changes in the timetables of the respective grades planned in advance, replacements, leaves, and sets of documents and forms allow for the centralization of the most essential information concerning the life of the school,” notes Daniel Betleja, First Secondary School.
