Microsoft Certified IT Professional (MCITP)

These certifications prove that you have the comprehensive set of skills to perform a particular IT job role, such as database administrator or enterprise messaging administrator. They are based on older versions of Microsoft technologies, and your MCITP certification will decline in value as companies move to newer versions of our products. Take advantage of special upgrades to earn a Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE) certification, and protect your investment in certifications.

Most MCITP certifications will be withdrawn by 31 July 2014. Please check the withdrawn certifications and withdrawn exams pages for specific withdrawal dates. Your withdrawn certification will remain on your transcript.

The existing MCITP certifications are currently valuable in the market and will remain valuable as long as companies are using the technology covered in your certification. As new technologies are released, they will align with the new solutions structure. Over time, MCITP certifications will be withdrawn and will transition to a legacy status. Legacy Microsoft Certifications will still appear on your transcript and will be designated as such.

If you achieved an MCITP certification that corresponds to a new expert-level certification, there will be a shorter upgrade path available to you for a limited time.
