Here’s what’s happening now in Microsoft training and certification.

Microsoft Press Guided Tours app updated with new tours

(March 31, 2015) The Microsoft Press Guided Tours app for Windows provides insights into new and evolving Microsoft technologies, allowing you to explore technical topics in new ways. The app was recently updated to include three new tours: Building cloud apps with Microsoft Azure, Programming Windows Store apps with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, and Using Microsoft Azure HDInsight. More tours will be available soon.

Now available: Microsoft courses on edX

(March 10, 2015) Microsoft online development courses are now available through edX, one of the largest and best-known providers of massive open online courses (MOOCs). The first set of courses, all taught by Microsoft experts, is focused on cloud and developer technologies. The courses integrate video, audio, and screen captures to help provide students around the world with the critical technical skills necessary to be successful.

The monetary value of Microsoft Certification

(September 10, 2014) In high-growth industries, most hiring companies are looking for candidates with skills in Microsoft technologies. A recent IDC study has shown that, among entry-level employees, those who hold a Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA) or Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS) certification can earn $10,000 to $16,000 more, annually, than their peers who aren’t Microsoft-certified.
