About this CourseThis two-day instructor-led course shows students how to install and configure Microsoft Dynamics AX 2009. The course explores the components used within a Microsoft Dynamics AX 2009 deployment, the hardware and software requirements needed to successfully deploy Microsoft Dynamics AX 2009, and the installation instructions for the four primary Microsoft Dynamics AX 2009 components: the database, the Application File Server, the Application Object Server, and the Microsoft Dynamics AX 2009 Client.
Audience ProfileInstallation and Configuration for Microsoft Dynamics AX 2009 training is recommended for people who plan to install, implement, configure, consult, or support Microsoft Dynamics AX 2009. The class is targeted toward administrators, implementers, developers, and consultants who need to understand the technical aspects and administrative functionality of Microsoft Dynamics AX 2009. The course is not intended for non-technical staff.
At Course Completion
The goal of this course is to enable students to:
  • Identify the primary components that support Microsoft Dynamics AX 2009, including the Microsoft SQL Server database, Application File Server, Application Object Server, Microsoft Dynamics AX 2009, Microsoft SQL Server, Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services, Microsoft SQL Analysis Server, Internet Information Services, SharePoint Services, and Active Directory.
  • Identify the Hardware and Software requirements for the various Microsoft Dynamics AX 2009 deployment scenarios.
  • Recognize the requirements that must be in place prior to installing Microsoft Dynamics AX 2009.
  • Complete the Installation procedures for the SQL Server database, Application File Server, Application Object Server, and Microsoft Dynamics AX 2009 Client for both the live and test environments.
    Complete the Installation Checklist.
  • Complete several Post-installation tasks, including entering preliminary data in the core Microsoft Dynamics AX 2009 modules.
  • Configure Microsoft Dynamics AX 2009 to work between live, test, and development environments.
  • Import data into Microsoft Dynamics AX 2009.

Module 3: Installing a Development SystemThis module discusses how to perform a single computer install of Microsoft Dynamics AX 2009.Lessons

  • Manage a New Microsoft Dynamics AX 2009 AOS Instance.

The goal after completing this module is to enable students to:
  • Understand when it is appropriate to use the single computer install.
  • Know how to install multiple instances of Microsoft Dynamics AX 2009.
  • Know how to manage Microsoft Dynamics AX 2009 instances.
  • Understand what the Version Control Server is used for and how to install and set it up.
Module 4: Installing a Core SystemThis module examines the process flow for installing Microsoft Dynamics AX 2009.Lessons
