In a recent Forrester Consulting Total Economic Impact Study (commissioned by Microsoft), the projection of partner revenue by category shows that growth for Microsoft 365 will be fueled by managed services. The Forrester study also indicates that the growth of gross margins (recurring) for managed services will rapidly eclipse traditional professional services in the next several years.

The Envision stage involves using the Windows 10 Assessment to drive customer intent and assess IT readiness for Windows 10 deployments (Office 365 ProPlus optional). 

We've created two pathways, or types, for you to deliver the Windows 10 Assessment depending on the needs of your customers. You can choose either of the two types of assessments for customer delivery. Both assessments cover the basic scope of (1) presenting the value of Windows 10 and Office 365 ProPlus, and (2) educating customers about Windows and Office end-of-life (EOL) scenarios, and associated impact. During the Validate stage, you can use the Modern Desktop Proof of Concept offer to provide hands-on deployment experience in the lab environment and build a deployment roadmap with your customers.


The Commit stage is about proving the value of Modern Desktop and securing customers’ commitment through in-production deployment of 500 or more seats with the Modern Desktop Pilot.


The Onboard and Adopt stage helps accelerate deployments to reach critical retention milestones. Engage with Microsoft FastTrack to help customers onboard and adopt Windows 10 and Office 365 ProPlus, and gain access to Desktop App Assure engineering support to mitigate compatibility concerns during deployment.

Desktop App Assure, the new service from Microsoft FastTrack, is designed to address issues with Windows 10 and Office 365 ProPlus application compatibility. Now available in preview in North America (English only), with global language support available 1 February 2019, the Desktop App Assure service will:

  • Assist customers in remediating custom-developed line-of-business applications.
  • Engage third-party software vendors to help remediate their Windows 10 applications and issue support statements for Windows-as-a-Service.
  • Address issues found in Microsoft first-party products (including Office macros and add-ins).
