The number two automobile insurer in North America, GEICO holds more than 17 million policies. Until now, it relied on mainframe computing to store and analyze that vast trove of data. GEICO’s sales mainframe linked front-end sales applications with a complex string of downstream systems for billing, credit reporting, data analysis, and other activities. GEICO engaged Applied Information Services (AIS) to migrate its Sales mainframe to Microsoft Azure. The move brought GEICO a range of benefits, starting with a reduction in release cycles from six to three weeks for major releases and the ability to accommodate minor changes at any time.
GEICO finds that the cloud is the best policy after seamless modernization and migration
Leading automobile insurer GEICO elevates customer engagement to an art form with its on-point, humorous commercials and engaging social media channels. Yet it knows that to stay competitive, it must back up compelling messaging with effective technology. That’s why, after turning to the cloud to create frictionless customer experiences, GEICO is transforming its mainframe-based internal business applications and migrating them to Microsoft Azure with the help of cloud partner Applied Information Sciences.
