Azure AD password protection | Public Preview

Azure AD Password Protection helps you eliminate easily guessed passwords from your environment, which can dramatically lower the risk of being compromised by a password spray attack. Specifically, these features let you:Protect accounts in Azure AD and Windows Server Active Directory by preventing users from using passwords from a list of more than 500 of the most commonly used passwords, plus over 1 million character substitution variations of those passwords. Risky IP for Active Directory Federation Services (ADFS) extranet lockout protection | Public Preview

Risky IP for Active Directory Federation Services (ADFS) extranet lockout protection | Public Preview

Risky IP is a feature in Azure Active Directory Connect Health for ADFS. Depends on the threshold setup from the portal, Connect Health will notify admins if there are potential IP attacks through ADFS. With Extranet Lockout feature, ADFS will "stop" authenticating the "malicious" user account from outside for a period of time. This prevents your user accounts from being locked out in Active Directory. In addition to protecting your users from an AD account lockout, AD FS extranet lockout also protects against brute force password guessing attacks. The whole IP address list can also be exported from the Connect Health Portal. To get started, visit our documentation today!

Improvements in reporting of ‘bad items’ during mailbox migrations

Improvements in reporting of ‘bad items’ during mailbox migrations

We are improving migrations so that the admin will no longer be required to specify an explicit Bad Item Limit or Missing Item limit. Instead, a migration will be assigned a Data Consistency Score that will classify it as - Perfect, Good, Investigate or Poor. These classifications are based on the nature and amount of data loss that might have occurred during the migration process. Based on these scores the admin may be required to take an additional step to approve a migration before it can be completed successfully. With the introduction of Data Consistency Score, we aim to increase visibility into conversion errors and help triage the criticality of item conversion failures.

Email sender rewriting of unverified domains for EOP relayed emails

Email sender rewriting of unverified domains for EOP relayed emails

In the past, emails sent from customers' on-premises servers and devices could have a sender email address for a domain that had not been verified as theirs. This opens up the possibility for abuse and spoofing of unowned domains. Customers should only send emails for domains they own. Domain ownership is verified for Office 365 tenants by using the Accepted Domains list. That list of domains can be viewed by going to the Mail Flow section in the Exchange Admin Center. Moving forward, any emails sent with an unverified domain in the Mail From field will have that email address changed. This applies to emails from customers' own email servers (also called "on-premises servers"), devices such as multi-function printers, and applications that send out emails that all make use of an Office 365 connector. The Mail From field is the sender address that email servers use to check who sent the email. This is different to the From header which is shown in email clients for recipients to see who sent it. Normally, the Mail From field and From header have the same email address, but not always. The From header will not be rewritten by this change. Problem email addresses in the Mail From field will be rewritten to use the default domain of the tenant together and any non-delivery reports will be directed back to customers' tenants to the email address bounces@contoso.com where contoso.com is the default domain of the tenant.

Microsoft Teams - Location Based Routing

Microsoft Teams - Location Based Routing

Location-Based Routing is a call management feature that controls how calls are routed. LBR makes it possible to restrict the routing of calls between VoIP endpoints and PSTN endpoints based on the location of the parties in the call. It also enforces call authorization rules on whether calls can be routed to PBX or PSTN endpoints based on the caller's geographic location.
